A football or a cricket ball? That's like equating a punch from Larry Grayson to one from Larry Holmes. Daft twat, Halsey.

You've got to wonder about a bloke who see's no difference between a modern football and cricket ball. Definitely 'Cock'!

Halsey talking utter nonsense. Not sure how Hugh stayed on though, didn't Rory get sent off for kicking the ball at SWP ?

I think that if a WBA player had done on Saturday exactly what Huth did, and only got a yellow, this Board would have been in meltdown, in respect of both the kicking of the ball very hard at an opponent on the ground and the forearm smash.

Halsey's done himself no favours with his over egging of the pudding, but he is not far off. It was a disgraceful act that needs seriously looking at. What he's doing booting the ball into his face from point blank range I don't know.
He needs banning.

Surprised Gary Lineker didn't highlight this more on MOTD.

From the same article -
"Meanwhile, the FA have rescinded West Ham midfielder Mark Noble's red card against Liverpool, and have reduced Stoke's Ibrahim Afellay's suspension for two games after his early bath against West Brom."

" If that happened on the side of the street you'd be arrested."
I always find this a bit of an odd argument when discussing potential punishments in football. Barging some passer by over on the side of the street is likely to get me a ticking off, regardless of the number of times I appeal to the cop "but it was shoulder to shoulder!" but that doesn't mean I think we should look at making football a non contact sport. I don't think on the football field to on the side of the street is a very fair comparison.

You've got to love the bloke, if he's going to get sent off he's going to do it properly. Always annoys me when players get sent off being a bit of a fanny (Affelay) if you're going to get sent off at least make sure you were taking no prisoners.

He never got sent off though, and IMHO he should have been. Violent conduct. End of!

I'm sorry but when you put Afellay's challenge against Robert's, there is no comparison. I, as much as anyone loved Huthy, but sorry again, that was far worse than Af's.
