Interesting stat there: Stoke committed only 4 fouls all match. Yes mate I agree. In fact only 13 fouls committed by both teams. Yet Oliver's brandishing of 6 yellow and 2 red cards would indicate it was a dirty match. PL an FA should be looking at these type of statistics that show clearly the refs are ruining games with over zealous officiating. Wasn't it the same two years ago when we were bossing the game at Newcastle until Atkinson conjured up two bits of magic to alter the game by sending Wilson and Whelan off for very little. Said on a previous thread that Howard Webb is greatly missed because he knew how to control games without over use of cards, giving stern warnings for the type of incidents we saw yesterday and knowing when a card was needed. The current crop of look at me officials need reigning in and Howard Webb should be on the professional ref panel to do this.
