I actually quite like Benji. He is obviously a fan but hes always seeing the glass as half empty. But I do think he deserves a bit of a break because he will admit when he gets things wrong, which is 90% of the time. Some of the abuse he gets is totally unnecessary. Hes just a comedy character and people should take his gravity crocodile comments with a huge pinch of salt. I like BB as well.
I think BB himself is a good humoured chap that has given great entertainment with his posts. In fact, a highlight of this season so far.
I think BB himself accepts that it's all opinions and I salute his right to express them in the good mannered way that he has.
The banter with BB has been funny and I'm sure he takes it all in his stride.
Predictions for cup progress and final league position for 2016 BB?
Merry Christmas Biscuits.

No, my friend. It's the lack of goals which is responsible for our inconsistency. More goals guarantees us more points!15 games into 14/15 16 gls, 18 pts 15 games into 15/16 13 gls, 22 pts You get the same number of points for 1-0 as for a 6-0. Yes, you do get the same number of points for winning 1-0 as for 6-0 but when we play West Ham would you rather be 1-0 up or 6-0 up with 20 minutes to go?

Was it George Santyana who said something like "those who fail to learn from their mistakes are doomed to repeat them"? Well he was probably thinking of someone just like Benjie when he said it. I have no sympathy for him and I don't think he deserves a break at all. EVERY year he predicts doom and gloom. EVERY transfer window is a disaster to his mind. EVERY season we have gone backwards according to him whilst 3 or 4 clubs around us are steaming ahead at full speed. AND EVERY TIME HE IS PROVED WRONG. We don't get relegated, we hold our position or improve. We turn annual losses into profits with our recruitment policy. etc. etc. etc. If he can't be arsed to take a long look at himself and say "perhaps I have a history of over reacting, perhaps I'll shut up this year about my fears" then he can crawl into the big hole he has dug for himself as far as I am concerned. It isn't him being pessimistic that bothers me - its is his desire to drag everyone else into his own personal trough of despair that I despise.

There are lots of quotes in the bible about criticizing others, but here are a few others:
Don’t criticize what you don’t understand, son. You never walked in that man’s shoes.
Elvis Presley
Any fool can criticize, condemn, and complain but it takes character and self control to be understanding and forgiving.
Dale Carnegie
When we judge or criticize another person, it says nothing about that person; it merely says something about our own need to be critical.
Unknown
Criticism is an indirect form of self-boasting.

Along with the picture of the team holding down a crocodile, can’t remember which match day thread it was on, they have got to be some of the best posts of the year.

When you read the original post, 'benji' got a lot right! He was right about missing RS, playing Cameron in midfield, at the time he posted he was right about only Johnson, of the new signings, looking good. His forecast about being in the bottom three proved correct. Of course, as 'benji', myself and others pointed out, the start to the season was extremely concerning. The return of Ryan has transformed the season though we're still the lowest scorers in the league. It is only our excellent defence that is winning precious points. So, every reason to be cheerful but to progress above 11th we've got to score more goals! Personally, that is a load of rubbish. Our transformation started a few weeks before Ryan returned. It isn't only our excellent defence that is winning us precious points. Although not scoring as many goals as we'd have liked, it is and has been for some time, clear that it was only a matter of time before we turned our play into goals. We should have won at a canter at Swansea, Villa and Southampton and those teams didn't trouble us at all. The start of the season was only concerning if you're happy to wet your pants at the slightest thing. Others were quite happy to realise that we'd got some mighty fine players who just needed time to recover form and fitness or get used to a new league. For Benji, sadly, he is fair game now because yet again, every single prediction he's made has been proven completely wrong. There isn't enough time to dredge up all the shit he's posted but "disastrous window" "net spend" "won't win another home game until the new year", "lucky to get 16 points before New Year", "I'd take 17th now", "gravity crocodile" are just a few of the gems. The sad thing is that he's posted the same shit for the 2 previous seasons as well yet continues to bore the arse off everyone by keeping a low profile when we win then posting on every single thread when we lose. It is all so predictable sadly. Post shit then turn up to say "there's no bigger Stoke fan than me, I'm delighted to have been proven wrong". Most on here can see the bigger picture, regardless of their opinions but certain posters just drag down what was surely one of the best messageboards around. It's tedious but when we turn in performances that we've done of late, the likes of Mr Biscuit are fair game.

TOTAL FOOTBALL OR BUST! The teams that score the most are at the top of the league and those who score the lowest are usually at the bottom. Of course, some teams buck this correlation because of the number of 1-0 wins or 0-0 draws but it isn't usual for this to happen. Currently, Stoke and Man Utd are the teams doing well without being prolific goal scorers.

I don't dispute that those near the top have a better goals scored figure, it was your 'guarantee' that scoring more goals equate to more points, when that's not true. We all want us to be scoring more goals and be less profligate but the most important column is the one with the points in it. We finished last season with a +3 GD and I'd love us to be thinking of +7 and above for this season and get close to 19 wins I would be one happy fella!

Notice none of those who so passionately bring this one up did so today funny that.
- 3 Home league wins all season - still conceding from set pieces 2 today again - lowest scorers bar villa 14 all season not this month all season - lower than last years finish - passed by leciester , West Ham Everton palace who all finished below us but out invested us - 12m star player hasn't scored all season - Arnie now a regular when he couldn't get in the team last season - still missing Cameron when he isn't in midfield
Now to be balanced we have improved since the start and have had some decent results but the truth is we are worse off than we finished last season , we can't score for love nor money and this gibberish of Top 6 , next level , 60 points can be put to bed. 40 points is only worthwhile immediate target and if we only win three more home games this season in th second half that still requires some special results away at a time I the season when they become harder to get .

Half the teams in the league currently sit lower than their finishing position last season, after 16/17 games
The fact is we are four points better off at this stage than we were last season.
Hardly crisis stuff.

Good god where to start with this bollocks .. 3 home wins yes..from 8 games. .not brilliant but we have also won 3 away ..and what makes you think we will only win 3 more of the next 11 ?? Still conceding from set pieces ?? Remind us again how many goals we have conceded full stop of late ? Currently lower than last years finish ?Correct..yet a win today and we'd have been 6th. .something you have just dismissed as gibberish. Oh and we've the small matter of only another 21 games to play. Shaq not scoring has been disappointing. .but not the disaster you're making out.And Arnie is in the team because he deserves to be.. Everton and West Ham are above us...just. Have you actually studied the league table ?

I fucking hate this board and cocks like you after we lose! We have played well today, enjoyed watching it. You have nothing positive to say and really fuck me off with your negativity. I will tell you what negativity is? Having 30% possession of the football, launch 60 yards balls at a 6ft+ striker and hoping for flicks ons and winning second balls.

Who mentioned a crisis i am simply holding the CEO to account for his next level rhetoric in the summer when talk was cheap but investment to support it woefully inadequate
Said then this squad is bottom 8 not top 10 and i think that will be proved right on the 1st January at half way . Already i am seeing Norwich at home as pivotal sandwiched between the cup game its going to determine where we sit v the bottom three and versus 40 points .

It must feel good to be able to bring it up yourself after months of being laughed at. Season after season you predict doom and season after season you end up as a laughing stock and guess what it's going to happen again this season. We played very well today and were extremely unlucky not to get the 3 points due to some good goalkeeping and woeful finishing we went through a period last year when we were hitting the post on a regular basis and it's happening again now. I am not concerned about us being low scorers as we are making chances and they are going to start going in hopefully against Manure we have a superb team who bossed today's match and with players like Bojan, Shaqiri, Arnautovic and Afellay we have a very good chance to finish higher than last year and also win a Cup. Meanwhile just to talk about you're team for a moment we had a whip round in the pub and have put a bid of £7.52 in, Smurf is seriously considering it as it's £7.51 more than he was expecting!!!
