Patting the badge means fuck all, Biggins kissed the badge just before he buggered off to Barnsley I'm standing by adam on this, he's a victim of his past and he has my support cus that's what supporters do for their players, especially players who have made great contribution for goals and assists which I believe Charlie has. This incident has us questioning Charlie's nature because the media has influenced us this way. Yes he's no angel, but by god he is a potter! He did it to try and keep the fans on side, the media influencing opinions of him, if he hadn't of made the dirty challenges he has in the past (not this one) they wouldn't have anything to show.

trod and stamped are two different things. A stamp is meant to hurt. It didnt.

I don't think it was a red ......I think the ref should have used a bit common sense did he have a bet on the game or what ? Problem was that the lines man needed glasses to see that Charlie did Not stomp or jump on said leg. He was only trying to stay on his own feet as they were entwined with other players legs. Never a red. Ref was a complete card player as most times with us.

The truth of the matter is very simple
Linos, like players, have their own 'careers' which they want to advance
Best way to do that is to try and do something special to get noticed, to play the hero, to please the bastards at the FA
The slimy worm of a lino got just the chance to do that yday
Does anyone believe that if this 'incident' (for want of a better word) had happened at old traffiord with manure down to 10 men (I know that you really need to exert your imagination to try and visualize such a situation) the lino would have been waving his flag so vigorously land getting all over-excited ?
He would have just turned a blind eye and continued with the game

I was in row 8 in south stand, near corner flag; directly in line with the incident. Charlie piled in at speed and got the ball out for a throw. There was a strange coming together of players. Nothing malicious. THEN the lino flagged. I shouted, "don't you dare say he did a stamp!!", because until the lino flagged, I thought the ref would simply calm things down and let play resume from the throw. Sitting in block 28, I see a coming together of legs, no sign of a 'malicious stamp'. If Oliver had any sense he would have booked them both and got on with it. But no, let's ruin the game for 28K supporters, a game we clearly had a good chance of winning even when we were down to 10 men. Anyone see one of our players (was it Afellay?) well and truly barged into the advertising boards before it all kicked off? The officials were appalling to day and no doubt it is getting worse. Yes I saw the push on Affellay, right in front of me. Players do that often, but in this case,it was unnecessary push, as the ball was going out of play. Dawson knew what he was doing, my guess is wba saw affelley as a target to wind up. Persoally I would have had Arnie on the left, affellay annoyingly kept cutting in and across. Arnie would have murdered Dawson. When affellay went off it was a strange move putting Charlie left wing, he was always going to be stretched when tracking back. We would have certainly won with 11 or 10 men. Wba set out for a point, no more.

It's so frustrating after seeing MOTD, you'd expect to have a fair analysis but the shows output is so lazy it beggars belief that these people were once pro footballers. They made a meal of Charlie's challenge, Huth got away with assault and Adam has been condemned for stepping on someone yet they hardly compare challenges or the standard of officiating, I don't know why I watch MOTD anymore when we lose under such circumstances cus I always expect that there'll be a voice of reason but there never is...

I thought Adam's sending off was a load of bollocks at the time, having now seen the videos posted on this thread I'm glad to see I was right.... Seeing as Adam did get sent off for it, though, has anyone got a video of the West Brom wanker who stamped on Arnie? Why wasn't he sent off as that looked a genuine stamp?

Plus Dawson and Gardner definitely targeted Afellay and succeeded in winding him up big time.

In my opinion it's a bit naive to say it's not a red. I don't see how you can say "he was off balance etc". It was a blatant dirty stamp and if a west brom player had done the same I think we'd all be calling him a dirty prick Stoke tinted specs. just my opinion and I do rate Charlie

Anyone see the goals on Sunday coverage of the incident?
The linesmans words to the referee were "he stamped on him very hard" which is a complete and utter fabrication.
He trod on him very softly.
If you ever needed proof that almost every official (ref or linesman) ever involved in the game at every level was the last pick on the school playground, bullied at school or both, then here you have it.
Charlie got sent off because of his reputation. Nothing more.
"stamped on him very hard" my fucking arse.

Spot on mate, saw this, this morning as well, the lino lied/exaggerated to get charlie sent off, stoke should show this evidence and question the linesmens judgement on what he deems as "Stamped very hard" because this incident certainly wasn't it.

Not sure any of our two sending offs warranted a red card! Totally agree....the ref should have used some common sense and calmed the situation down ...totally ludicrous ...let's be honest if Charlie was going to deliberately stamp on a player...it would be a little less subtle ..and as for the Affelay slap incident ....the other player slapped Affelay first ..so surely they both needed red carding ?

He was having a decent game but with the team down to 10 men with a card happy ref you cant take risks like that all the badge kissing in the world cant excuse his stupidity . Pulis knowing him would no doubt encourage his players to wind hi up and if any of our players cant afford an international break and the three game ban after that its him sorry but he was out of order this time
