Question 1 Moses Question 2. man utd have hung on to their best saleable asset to the very death , have sold fringe players for big money , and strengthened their area of weakness , have no unproven loan players and aren't finished , plus it's a ridiculous comparison however there first three results suggest progress ours don't I wouldn't have thought Man Utd's fans would consider two scrappy wins and two goals in three games as "progress". Anyway, their nett spend is £5M following the sale of Evans.

You are most certainly entitled to your opinions Benji mate and you are, at the very least, consistent with them. I do think you are viewing a very different story than what has actually happened and seems to lack any kind of rationale. Well for what's its worth and it's alll opinion . If we are really done my take is it's been a shocking window because - we have sold prize assets too easily as prices have increased throughout the summer Perhaps. Perhaps not. There's no guarantee that Bego and Fonz would have found suitors later in the Summer nor ones that would be willing to pay what they went for. If I was a betting man though I reckon we could have squeezed more money out of their respective situations, but no more than £2m apiece.- we have lost our outstanding proven midfield player without replacement and didn't need to given our position . We've not replaced him with a proven Prem player, and that is a concern I share with you. We do have two very capable players that have come into the squad though and it is way too early to write off what might be a very positive contribution to our season from either/both of them. Can't agree with the 'and didn't need to given our position'; an unhappy Fonz for another year and losing out on potentially £8-10m would have been poor business for all.- we have failed to cover for our injured skipper which we knew was a risk in may The club, including Hughes and Bowen, have been trying to manage his injury situation since January when he had to pull out of the Leicester game at the last minute. I reckon they're as gutted as anyone that it had to come to surgery. But it's a squad game, and just like during his time out of the side earlier this year, players are just going to have to step up to the plate until he returns in 3-4 months' time. If we can get a short-term loan deal to bring in someone experienced then even better.- we have failed to replace our stand out left winger from last year
Shaqiri can play there. Afellay can play there. Arnie can most definitely play there. Hell, even Diouf can play there. I think people overstate Moses' contribution last year as though he was some other-level mercurial talent; he was a very good player on his day but even he had his poor matches and moments in a game; in the half a season he was actually fit for us.- we have not met the pre window hype of investment in the first. team Yes we have- we have underinvested dramatically versus our competitor set No we haven't (e.g. Stoke spend £21m; West Ham spend £26m; Palace spend £20m; Swansea spend £9m; Everton spend £5m; Southampton spend £24m- we have changed large numbers but not quality and risked the power and physique which was a proven part of our success the most valuable legacy of our previous manager Remains to be seen if we become a soft-touch, but as you keep saying, 'in Hughes we trust' eh? As Bowen mentioned the other day about Bojan, you don't achieve what many of our new players have achieved and played where they have played if all you do is fancy tricks and there's no competitive steel to your game. Let's hope Hughes can regularly tap into that steely determination, such as what was demonstrated at Spurs only 2 weeks ago.-we have put huge faith in a loan player as the lynch pin of our whole team and one who is totally unproven Have we? We're three games into a season; I have no idea whether he will be the 'lynchpin' or not, or even if he'll hold down a regular place in the starting 11. - we are ignoring the evidence of the First games if we bereave it's all good news
You are ignoring the evidence of the last 7 seasons of top-flight football if you think that how we perform in the first 3 games is any indicator of how the rest of the season pans out.- we have materially unbalanced the squad We do seem particularly 'top heavy'.- we have proven me right in investing less than £5 m in a First team that needed 25m to improve if we were set on selling nzozni . Haven't we sold Nzonzi and spent £21m? I'm confused at what you're trying to get at. You keep going on about net spend likes it's the holy grail of all indicators of ambition and good business in the transfer market; which is, if you pardon my language, absolute bollocks.Of course at this stage it's opinion by December the 31st there will be some evdidene to support or oppose the two opposing views of the wndow but for me it's been a shocker .

On the face of it sounds good....
However we are currently considerably weaker as identified by Higgy
Without Shawcross (back new year playing) and Nzonzi we are not a top ten side
Hope that I am wrong and the replacements come good

We sold nzozni and bego so by all external measures out spending is sub 5 million 3 according to a number of independent sources .
However as I've said its all subjective and the run to Xmas will tell us which is nearer the truth in terms of viewing the window .
For me I hope we are in the top 10 with 30 points on New Year's Day but I'd snap your arm off for 20 now .

For me I hope we are in the top 10 with 30 points on New Year's Day but I'd snap your arm off for 20 now . Selling players for money is part and parcel of the game; I still don't understand your point. 'By all external measures' Swansea have spent £9m of the £30m they brought in from Bony moving to Man City, Southampton have spent £24m of the £37m they got for Schneiderlin and Clyne. So what? We should be measured by the quality of the respective squads not simply how much of our cash we've spent. I would imagine in terms of 'points per spend', an external measure I would much rather be judged upon, we've been pretty bloody good and long may that continue imho. We can most certainly agree on the hope we have 30 points on the board and a top 10 berth by New Year's Day, starting with 3 points against the Baggies today. Here's to what will hopefully be a cracking match! UTP!!
