Leicester @ Bury – 1,350
Norwich @ Rotherham – 1,029
Northampton @ Newcastle – 1,000
Sheff Utd @ Fulham – 955
Boro @ Burton – 900 (approx).
Oxford @ Sheff Wed – 831
Stoke @ Luton – 823
Not knocking our support and never will. But I cannot understand why we take so few away.I know we have just had two away games but without checking Im sure other clubs fans have the same issues. These are exciting times for us and the mood atm is buoyant (I think) so has anyone got a sensible excuse or is it just that we are not as big as Leicester,Norwich etc?

It's midweek and most wouldn't fancy a trip to Luton if they had work this morning, plus it was on TV.

You'd think TV knocked a fair few travellers from Stoke off and no free coaches.

You also have to think, were not exactly an affluent area. And not saying the others are, but will have a large impact.

Oxford, Sheff Utd & Northampton were all playing teams from higher leagues, therefore they're big events.
Middlesbrough wouldn't have played Burton, possibley ever. Norwich had a nice, shiney new stadium to visit at Rotherham.
Leicester's is an alright but seeing as we had 2.5k at Rochdale (a fair comparison) we'd have taken similar.
We, on the otherhand, were playing a team in a shithole of a ground from 3 leagues below us on the tele.

Fair post with the comparison to the other ties but ours was on TV. Therefore fewer would have gone.

Cost, on tele, mid week, early not that big a tie and I don't think our away support has ever recovered from the ID Card fiasco, some people stopped going during this period and have never returned?

This. The ID card era put a huge dent in our away support, then came the Pulis era where away games were a real chore to watch, I'd say our numbers are slowly improving but the ID card years meant many fans got used to not going.

Our support isn't the same as it was pre 2008. I'm not talking about he numbers I mean the type of fan. A lot of jonny come lately knocking around now . A totally different crowd from ten years ago and from the worse in my opinion

We've just had to shell out £75 for two successive league away fixtures as well (plus transport if you don't go on the coaches). Oh, and those who're going to Arsenal have had to buy their tickets as well - £36.50 a piece. Just saying like.

It is fair enough to not go because it's a long way, on a midweek, and not cheap. It's not like our fans are less fanatical than others.
Fair play to those who went but also fine for those who couldn't or didn't.
Every situation is different.

Mate we didnt take up the full allocation at Norwich and that was with free transport. So money obviously isnt the problem.Or maybe it just is.My thinking is that we are just not passionate enough.Controversial I know but I cant think of any other feasible excuse.

You can't count Everton as nobody works up there so they've got plenty of time to get to midweek away games.

A - Cause it was on tele and my living room is a lot more comfyer than a 2 hr drive and a shit hole of a non league standard stadium....complete with its "quaint" terrace house facade. B - I work until 5pm and refuse to take a half day holiday to use for footy and then be half asleep next day because I got 5 hrs sleep. C - no interest in the early stages of the Singhs corner shop Cup Trophy shield....or what ever they call it now D - Been to Luton quite a few times when it meant something a little more....first game of the season 1984...ask the lord mayor he came to greet us E - Lutons a shit hole and it would take more than the above reasons to make me want to go again F - I have grown out of the habit of just throwing money around to attend most of our away matches just because Stoke are playing......and guess what, yep it was since the away membership was introduced, a card that I refused to hold. is that enough

Would have said that was a decent effort. Spoke to a Wolves fan today who thought there were loads of Stokies there (on the box) so maybe its more about the noise.
