Give him time, he hasn't started a game yet. Anyone noticed hoe much he falls over during a game?

I think he'll end up being a good signing; you've got to give these new lads a chance. Agreed. That sitter he missed (allbeit) offside did worry me though, how did he manage it? Just hilarious. To be honest, I was working and didn't see it. Was it Ronny Rosenthal bad?

He just needs time to settle in, since he's been here there has been signs of a quality player but he did terrible tonight. He seems to try and smash close range shots like he did against Norwich and then end up putting them a mile over the bar. I also noticed he keeps trying long shots but when there's players right in front of him and they just get blocked. I think he'll struggle to settle in but I think he's a decent player

He's lacking confidence at the moment.
He's got good movement, decent pace, decent in the air and think he's actually a good finisher (although we are yet to see that)
He will come good.

He may turn out to be a disappointment, but three weeks into the season after a shit performance from everyone, is not the time to judge a single individual, particularly a new recruit.
You have to think of the Luton game as a preseason match where it's all about the game-time for some of the players, not least Joselu.

If I start a thread laughing at Joselu will the mardarses shout at me? Because I think he deserves it for one of the worst striking performances I've witnessed in 10 years! I can't get over it. Who was the striker 10 years ago?

Strange that people want to give mvg time but not one of our own.

He was awful. But on reflection no worse than the others, Crouch included.
Credit where it's due, Luton knew last night to simply keep it tight, let us have the flanks and played the offside trap to perfection. Their defensive organisation was brilliant and we could do with some of it.
What worries me more is TP will have West Brom doing exactly the same with better defenders. Only hope Shaqiri, Adam, Affellay can offer something different to unlock it.

After his sublime Cruyf turn won us the penalty at Spurs I would say he shows promise. Last night would have been difficult to rise above the shite that surrounded him.

Joselu is a big conundrum. He looks like he needs a lot of games to get settled into the higher pace of the league and also to adjust to his new teammates. The problem comes with the system using only 1 centre forward and he's competing with Crouch and Diouf - the latter being in excellent form currently, and the former coming with huge experience.
So, who do you drop for him and how do you get him the games he needs?

I thought besides his sitter he did alright, good at holding it up and made a few decent runs. As for crouch playing shit I think I saw him have one cross to work with and he nearly scored from it!
Lack of service for crouch, bit of new club nerves for Joselu I'd suggest.

A headache for MH is that he has players challenging for every position and only 11 can play at any one time with 5 on the bench
There will be times when some of our very best players miss out.
It then becomes a test of management skills for MH and a challenge for the players
MH is keen to retain Crouch and so he started yesterday. Unfortunately that meant another spot on the bench for Joselu
So far his play has resulted in a penalty for us (expertly converted by Arnie whop is taking too much flak at the moment imo) and a well taken penalty
He's held the ball up well and it will take time to get used to playing in this league
He really needs a place in a starting line up and might have to wait until the Fulham game to get it!
Over to you MH

There's absolutely no doubt that he was turd last night. But to brand him as shit a few games into his English career is quite frankly verging on lunacy. Sometimes I wonder if people are waiting for Stoke to play shit so they can immediately pounce on here all guns blazing at how wank we are/going down etc. Get behind the lad, hopefully he'll make a few people on here look like soft cunts like Bojan did when he was wrote off after 2 weeks.

Don't think any of the team performed last night. We didn't even look like a Premiership side. Too many changes made too many fringe players. We looked disjointed with no cutting edge. Walters goal was a moment of class. I know in cup games form goes out the window. But last night we were so close to going out of the competition. Players need to step up now . Glad Bojan came through the game last night. However made little impact on the game.

I thought he was rubbish but Walters, Bojan, Arni, Ireland, Wolly all made dreadful passes. If I was going to slate one person it would be Diouf for trying to punch the ball in.

When MH give a player a chance he expects them to take it. That's how you get into a MH team. He was an out of the blue signing and the fact we actually paid money for him you would hope that there is something there.

All our continental imports have needed time to adapt to playing in England. This time last year everyone was querying why MH chased Diouf for a year.
If Joselu has done anything for us this season, he has given Diouf a challenge, which Mama is responding to very positively.
Joselu hasn't yet found a way of getting away from his markers into space, we need to be patient before rushing to judgement.
