Signed in 2010 for the youth side @sidlittlesballbag.
Made his senior football debut in arguably Nantwich's biggest ever match, away to MK Dons in the FA Cup (2011).

The latest ex-Stokie round-up is up! Begovic won one and lost one...the match they won against Andorra saw Bosnia & Herzegovina have 89% of possession! Various other ex-Stokies were in action too, including a debut for a former youth player at Chelmsford City.

"There was a double helping of non-league action over the Bank Holiday weekend, and Jon Parkin helped Forest Green Rovers maintain their 100% start to the National League season."
Superb. Keep it up, I look forward to reading this as the season progresses.

Brunt was very highly thought of. Did his knee and the rest is history.

The latest round-up is in, and there were plenty of former Stokies on target. Jay Bothroyd is in magnificent form over in Japan (if anyone cares!) and Cameron Jerome scored his first Premier League goal since April 2014.

Buy him back in January
Had the very same thought when I read of his apparent woes. I'm sure he'll adjust in time though.

Weird start to life in Sevilla for N'Zonzi. Makes you wonder whether those who laud him as the finest footballer ever to hit Stoke are starting to re-think that. Good player for us, although maybe a bit overrated in the grand scheme of things. Has gone to probably a bigger team with better players around him and has fallen outside the pecking order, and his team sit bottom of the table.
So those who thought he'd walk into a top 4 team? Yeah.... maybe think again.

Yeah.... maybe think again. I suspect it may be more complicated than them simply being a bigger team with better players. They are bottom of their division just as we are close to the bottom of the Prem. I suspect that, like us, their new players are taking time to integrate into the league and performances are suffering as a result. Their form is probably even more worrying than ours as, although La Liga has some great teams at the top, it is probably weaker than the Prem in its lower half and being bottom can't be a happy experience. One wonders how N'Zonzi (and more importantly his dad) will react if his and his team's fortunes don't improve soon. He's now apparently saddled with a £25 million buy out clause which looks even more laughable than it did at the time of his move.

It doesn't always quite work like this though Huddy was disappointing for Arsenal and ended up getting dropped and kicked out the club yet I can't remember him ever misplacing a pass for us and is still the best midfield player I've ever seen.

They are just a way of deterring bidders.

In fact I could never understand why one of our best players used to get so much stick from the fans when he was below par now & again - but as this mb proves we are a fickle bunch. Clearly you don't rate him, and this news from Spain has given you the opportunity to say I told you so. You must be very pleased.

The fans never really took to him despite his huge contribution and consistency. His good performances were taken for granted when in fact it's very difficult to get players who can consistently perform at his level like he did. He was lambasted the few times he didn't deliver.

I can only speak for myself but I expect a fair few will feel the way I did about him. I didn't underrate him. I thought he was class, and, importantly, he improved during his time with us to the point where he was one of our best players by the time he left. But, he certainly pissed me off with his transfer requests at the end of every season. I never bought into the theory that it was his dad who was doing the stirring - he would have known about what his dad was planning and his lack of response to his dad's comments constituted agreement to my mind. So he'll always be flawed in my estimation. One of the reasons why players like Shawcross, Crouch and Bojan are respected by Stokies is that they replay the loyalty of the fans with a mature attitude off the pitch as well as on it.
