Good for Glen Johnson - shown a good improvement, overall, today. If he can continue to build on today (and I think he will), we will have a very useful player on our hands. Regardless of what the whinge brigade say.

I've repeatedly said "Player of the season or baring arse in Burton's shop window".
Do you all want to start sucking my dick now, or leave it a bit?

After seeing him play Koln, I was surprised to see him start, he didn't look match ready, but he was steady today and lasted well

One swallow doesn't make a summer.
Certainly a far better performance, like I said lacks a bit of understanding with the forwards yet but that's only a time spent together thing.

Defended well but passes were poorly executed at times.

Man of the match for me without a doubt, almost flawless today to be honest and he was one of our biggest threats today

I was really impressed by him today after reading about his performances in pre-season. Well done, Glen!

Same old stoke fans. Slagging the lad off before he kicked a ball for us. Today he showed he has a bloody lot to offer still. At times the lad was genuine class

It felt very strange to clap and praise him given the shit Ive given him over the years. One the best debuts Ive seen though so he's made me look a right prick.

i'm signing up to this.
I have always thought he was shit, laughed at clubs paying money for him in the past, and groaned when he signed for us, but he was one of our best attackers today. Didn't look too bad in the tackle either. Him and Bardsley very healthy competitors for RB!

Wow.
After a shaky first 15 mins he was great.
RB sorted it would seem.

Interesting to see the naysayers grudging praise but still giving themselves plenty of wiggle room to destroy him if and when he hits a bad patch.
Must have been a miserable first half for them.

Johnson did very well today turned defence into attack. Liked getting forward some good balls into the box.

So nobody else saw the 5/6 times he got turned way too easily when he tried to nick the ball in front of mainly Coutinho but didn't and then because of it was out of position?
He got back well but it was still horrific defending.
But he was absolutely immaculate in the first half, which was good to see.

Over the course of the season he will make some mistakes and he will get caught miles out of position.
Today he did show signs that he is capable of doing enough good things to make up for the inevitable errors.
If he had scored in the first half his debut would have been up there with the very best I have seen for Stoke.

Johnson was superb today, although it took Whelan and Walters to cover for him as he moved around the pitch.

He isn't great at defending generally although did pull off a few good tackles. He got forward better than I thought he would though. I'm not waxing lyrical about him just yet but I was proven wrong today as I've always thought he was a dog shit

His crosses generally found no one and there was a few times where he cut in on his left and in the past you've seen him unleash a right thunderbastard and he just didn't.

I just think it showed promise. Seemed like he was as comfortable on the ball aS nzonzi, which means he'll have a couple of successful ones soon. I agree about the "thunderbastard" I thought he'd shoot on a few occasions, especially after his showing in the pre match training, he was blasting them In like a striker

Played well today and looked very comfortable. Most Liverpool fans I have spoken to say we have signed a good player in Glen Johnson.

Clean slate. Aren't really arsed what he's done before. Its what he does in the red and white that matters. Gonna be a pivotal player this season. Solid enough debut.
