Must say, Porto were extremely impressive. Apparently their wage bill has gone up from €48m to €70m over the last year(compared to our €85m!) That's what you call efficiency! Streets ahead at this moment in time, still worries me that we aint given our best 11??? a run out (whatever that maybe)

Not great by any means.

So that'll be 'Marc Muniesa na na na na na' at the Brit, then?

Not great by any means. I think it's fair to say Hughes has a pretty good idea of his starting 11 for next week and it won't look like any of the sides he's played in the pre season friendlies. He's used these games to look at various players in different formations, that's what friendlies are for. The real work will be done on the training ground away from the TV cameras.

Too many matches, too much travelling, and too little time on the training ground.

So at least we won't be invited to these shit pre season tournaments again where we see our players look like wank amateurs.
They'd better fucking sort themselves out by next week

The time to start rating players is Sunday. When the serious stuff starts. It would be nice to think we know exactly what we are gonna do. I know this tournament has been good for the name, good to be involved but playing two totally different teams in 48 hours, neither of which are likely to be the XI on Sunday is a bit strange for me. Lets hope the training ground routines have got em well drilled!

Hope I don't have to hear that commentator ever again. He really doesn't like Stoke at all. It's pretty much the only time I've listened to a commentary on British TV or radio where a British club has been playing a foreign team and the commentator has been routing for the foreign team.

We played this tournament differently than the other teams, who fielded a strong team in both games and made changes at half-time, or after 60 minutes. We played two weakened teams for most of the game in both, which, with hindsight, seemed strange with kick-off a week away when you may want your preferred XI to at least get two 45 minutes together against decent opposition. We seem a week or two behind others in our preparation with the start of the season fast approaching.

I do understand that MH wants to run the rule over everybody but surely we should have played what is likely to be the starting line up at some point unless he isn't sure what it is yet !

28'c today, hope that beer will be cold Our players may struggle in the later stages unless it cools, which hopefully it will a bit with the later kick off. Whats the atmosphere like over there, any sign of bother from the locals, or indeed the Portuguese and Spaniards. Great atmosphere, no sign of bother apart from 1 Stoke fan and an old local handbagging with 1 guy pushing them apart, outside the Irish bar/kebab shop, that's the only bit I saw anyway, it didn't even warrant changing cheeks in the seat in the Brauhasse on the other side of the square

It's pretty much the only time I've listened to a commentary on British TV or radio where a British club has been playing a foreign team and the commentator has been routing for the foreign team. He was a complete bell end, of that there is no doubt, however, the one true statement that he did make, which I'm sure no stoke fan would argue with, was " What a pity the team didn't show as much passion and dedication as the travelling Stoke fans, if they had, well it could have been a different story..." He said that after the Porto game.

That commentator was dreadfull, and I blame Wolfscheild for that, as he provided him with his crib notes before the game. It was also Wolfscheild's fault for they flight being cancelled on Fri, and I think he murdered Cilla Black...he's a bastard. Really is... And it's his faulth that Kono, Shaq, and the other big names haven't signed..Utter utter bastard. Speaking to the Koln fans, they hate Wollshield as he is from leverkusen, their arch rivals, which is only 16km from Koln
