The mood on here is great at the moment and i guess we all have Stoke down for a top 10 finish.
However, at some point we will lose 3-5 games on the bounce and given the fickle nature of our fanbase it will be interesting to see how quick the mood can change.
MH is doing a fantastic job but we can't get ahead ourselves.
I just hope when the wheels come off, which they could well we all stick together.

Having Stoke down for a top ten finish is already getting ahead of yourself

Lose 3-5 games?
If we lose the first game it'll mean we're going to be relegated, sold by Coatesy and go into liquidation.

Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs up in the first 5 matches and us bedding in half a new team I'm all set for the whiff of crushed expectations early on, but hopefully we can kick on from there as things settle and the fixtures become more benign.

I don't think it would take 3-5 games for that kind of change of moods, you should've seen the state of some people when we lose a pre-season friendly.

I agree, lots of new faces and its going to take time, guille and support this season. Honestly we need the atmosphere ala Fortress Britannia regardless of the form the lads have going in. Up the potters! Give every player support!

I reserve the right to go absolutely ballistic in the immediate aftermath of most defeats. Then see it differently on Sunday.

However, at some point we will lose 3-5 games on the bounce and given the fickle nature of our fanbase it will be interesting to see how quick the mood can change.. How will it be "interesting"? Don't we see the same people having the same reactions at least 10 times a season when (pick any that apply): - The club does not buy someone that they personally think is the next Pele
- The club buys someone they personally think is crap
- The manager picks SJW in the starting line-up
- The manager does not pick SJW in the starting line-up
- The club sells an aging favorite
- The club does not sell an aging favorite
- The manager makes a positive comment
- The manager makes a negative comment
- The manager makes no comment
And so on. Heaven knows what happens if we dare to lose a game.

I reserve the right to go absolutely ballistic in the immediate aftermath of most defeats. Then see it differently on Sunday. I expect you to be: Completely defensive about any defeat. Finding any desperate mitigation you can. Hurling abuse at anyone who even suggests the defeat was anything other than heroic whilst accusing them of having agendas and not being supporters of the club. Reminding everyone where we have come from. In other words treating it in exactly the same way as you have every single defeat without fail up to the end of the 2013/14 season. Anything less and I might suspect you are a hypocritical spunk trumpet whose allegiance lies more with an ex-manager than with the club.

I was far more stoic about defeats these past two seasons than some. After all, as our current transfer policy clearly tells us, we are lil' old Stoke. Mediocrity is our name.
