Here is a picture of five Oatcakers who, as far as I'm aware, hadn't met before this past week. In this day and age of depressing news, isn't it great that our football team can bring people from all parts of the globe together? There isn't much else bar sport that can create an instant bond between people. Sure, we may have our differences at times over the manager's selection, the form of our strikers or whether a corner should be filled in but when it comes down to it if there was a Stokie in trouble we'd be there to look out for them. One chap in this photo now has the offer of a bed in two separate cities in Australia as he travels the country in the coming months. Not bad after meeting a group of people an hour before. Another guy, who isn't in this photo (hello, darksideofthemoon), saw Stoke play for the first time in about 40 years this week. His trip from Down Under to Singapore was the closest he's probably going to get to a 'home' match. Avenues like The Oatcake are great for us to air our grievances, but through all the negativity come the really positive moments like this. So, gilberto, JoeinOz, ange1, franklin and pottersaurus, thank you for helping make the pub part of my 36 hours in Singapore better than the match itself. Hopefully our trip to Asia has begun the steps of creating a new breed of Stoke City fan. It was great to see the odd local wearing a Stoke shirt or scarf and whilst the shirt issue has been discussed, hopefully we will learn from any errors we made and get it right next time we're out in the region. Up The Potters and see you all soon. James

Nice to be able to put faces to names of regular posters on here. Wish I had made the trip from Beijing.
Good job, James!

Pottersaurus looks a bit like SJW, imo.
Hopefully there'll be a game closer to home at some point in the future so I can get to meet some of the other wankers on this forum.

James I want to thank everyone for the warmth of their greeting and for the companionship over the five days in Singapore; I was close to NOT going when I had the accident with my lawn mower, but I am SO glad I did

That was funny. One bit of fun you missed when that idiot cop wouldn't let us out was a photo with a local Liverpool fan. We had 6 Stokies and 1 Liverpool fan in the pic. Will post it later. He took it in good spirit. Another highlight was the Tiger Beer Bird, Sophia....Yum Yum.
