I am too young to have seen Stein, but Fuller would take some beating.

Mark Stein without a shadow of doubt . The best player we have had since Jimmy Greenhoff . He would walk into this current team and score you 20 goals no problem .
Absolute class ...Fantastic .

Think ive answered this one before on here. Stein for me. Everytime the ball was at his feet you just expected the net to bulge within seconds, and mostly it did! Fuller the more skillful of the 2 but in terms of hitting the net, definitely Stein for me.

Totally different players. Stein was a clinical marksman. He could be anonymous for 89 minutes but pop up with a goal or two. He played on the shoulder and rarely missed. Ric could play deeper, pick the ball up and easily beat 3 men. Ric was at his best when by the touch line with apparently nowhere to go then just jink inside 2 men and lay it on a plate. Both fantastic players who we have been lucky to have.

Stein, but don't forget this wasn't in the premier league...for us at least.I personally think they were very different players,Stein was an out and out goal machine and Fuller was....well he was Ricky Fuller!

Fuller was far more consistent than some would have you believe. It was a privilege to watch him play most of the time, and even with his supposedly glass knees, I'm amazed that he never played for a bigger club. But Fuller or Stein? It's the Golden One every time for me.

I think a tad unfair to compare the 2.
The majority of the 2's career at Stoke were not spent at the same level. Had Fuller spent more of his time with us in the Champ, I have no doubt he would have doubled his scoring record.
Fuller was magic in the top league. I saw some of Stein but wasn't a regular at the Vic until 1995/1996 so only caught his last spell, so for me Fuller wins by default only.

Stein! No contest. Always knew what you were going to get on a Saturday from Stenio, hit and miss with ric.
Plus Stenio was the first poster I had on my wall, (I was 19!)

Irrespective of which people prefer for whatever reason.. they share one common trait that I've rarely seen in Stoke players... when ever they got the ball at their feet... you could feel a palpable rise in collective anticipation around the ground that something special could be about to happen. For that alone they are and always will be Stoke City legends...

I'm going to stand the other side of the line and go for Fuller. Stein's pace and ability to play off the shoulder was great but the way Fuller used his body to get between the defender and the ball was brilliant. There's no doubting that Stein was more prolific and he scored well for Chelsea which could negate the Premier League vs lower league argument but Rick's goals and sheer pigheadedness was bloody brilliant to watch.
