I know its over here in the 'Dam but if ever any of you are over here try this place out: cafe Gollem on Raamsteeg 4 in Amsterdam.....take trams 1,2 or 5 and get out at the stop called 'Spui' and ask for directions.... Every 2 weeks it changes its 14 hand pulled Belgian beers for another 14. And has over 200 different belgian bottled beers ranging from your summer lights of around 3% right thru to your heavier brews up to 18%. On a summer evening theres nowt better !!!! Or a winter warmer come to think of it www.cafegollem.nlwww.facebook.com/gollem.amsterdam

Extra fingers crossed for that tie against Ajax. Looks good Dutch.
Just sampled a pint of Banks's 'Botanical' bitter, with a 'grappling grape nuts' David Bellamy theme. 4.2% tastes like Malibu. Not moreish at all.
Used to like Bank's 'Mild' though.

My taste buds have certainly matured recently and I have gone from being a "bottled Continental lager" type to someone who really appreciates real/craft ales. In particular I like all of the different beers from Marble brewery in Manchester.
I have especially switched over to Stouts now - which is odd as old school stout always tasted like horse manure to me - and I am particularly fond of the Marble's "Chocolate Marble" - coffee, cocoa and licorace - and Sublime Chaos stout from Anarchy Brewing - velvet!!
Why drink piss when there is so much good stuff out there??

Beware of the Cheers 'Minagof' Smoked Porter. Disgustingly Lapsong Souchong antiseptic flavoured. Nope.
5.5/ Brewed by Toshi Ishi from Guam for Wadsworth's of Devizes.

Not sure about the banana though I'm usually fairly proficient at picking the notes up off booze. Some of the wheat beers do get confusing on the palate though. Hoegarden has a banana undercurrent, and if not kept rayt ends up top/bottom banana. Useless booze in my book. Too expensive to be chucking speculative money at. Not a current option for me and I wouldn't be going out me way for it. Can't go far wrong with a Thwaites' 'Lancaster Bomber'.

Moved to Cincy 6 years ago and the beer was truly awful. Over the last couple of years there have been several new breweries opened up in Cincinnati. The beer is amazing. Here are a couple of links -- www.rhinegeist.com/www.madtreebrewing.com/home.htmlThis is the 'growler' menu at a beer shop near me. A growler is a 4 pint glass container that they'll fill for you. lovelandcappys.com/growlers/Now, who said American beer is weak?

Sorry if already posted. Why not give "The Bridge Street Ale House" in Newcastle a visit. Generally have local breweries such as Ran and Weal on and it is a good atmosphere in there.

Get the Ale radar out chaps. Anyone spotted any S-o-T pubs selling draught Greene King Abbot Reserve. Treat with respect, a 6.5% Seasonal treat, Post Office Burslem had it this time last year.

I'm not keen on these modern American "citrussy" hops they tend to use in a lot of their pale ales. Or the Aussie "Galaxy" hop. That tastes of pineapple or summat. Wetherspoons were selling a "tropical porter" combining both last year and it was disgusting.
Oh, and I'm drinking nowt out of a growler thanks.
