Some good suggestions here. Mohammed Ali - now there's a fighter. If people want a separate thread for every religious denomination then that's fine with me. The point of this one was really to counteract the bad press Muslims seem to get on this board. Or conscientious objector depends how you view it I suppose I think you'll find that whichever way you view it he was both a very good boxer and a conscientious objector mate.

He was indeed both, did he convert to Islam and change his name whilst in prison, Mike Tyson converted whilst in prison seems to be a theme if so.

Good but not as good as the media like to portray. Marciano and Dempsey were better

I'm sure there's more important Muslims who have done more good in the world, but I always enjoy reading Mehdi Hasan's articles in various publications. Would this be the same Mehdi Hasan who called non-Muslims animals??

I don't really 'get' the point of trying to list a 'favourite Muslim'. For a start you can't always be sure who is/isn't a Muslim, & even if you knew they were/weren't one; why would that change your opinion of them?
Stoke players like Sidibe were great for us, but I wouldn't have known (or cared) if he was a Muslim or not. Cricketers like Wasim Akram were fantastic bowlers so I loved to watch him play; I find it daft to say he was my 'favourite Muslim' though.
Hopefully during the coming Ashes series we all get to cheer on a new 'Muslim hero', I doubt it'll have fuck all to do with him being a Muslim or not, though, and be far more to do with him helping us dick the Aussies (Who may or may not have Muslims in their ranks)

I know its tongue in cheek and an attempt to highlight not ALL Muslims are suicide bombing, child kidnapping terrorists who want to cut your head off, but is the main board so dull at the moment? Disclaimer: other Muslims are available who will be happy to oblige with the above, as will the odd Christian, Jew, Buddhist, Hindu, Sikh, atheist....well just about any odd twat hell bent on causing harm to anyone who believes in something different from them
