If we lose nzonzi without bringing in a replacement we will need sidwell next year. Otherwise it'd be a good move for him, and give us a chance to look at younger options in midfield.

Seems to be Nixon's story in the Sun.
Can see him being available maybe - but doesn't he travel up on the train with Crouch? It'd add another considerable chunk to his commute.

Can we really afford to lose him? 11 home grown players last season, lost Wilko and huth with the possibility of losing sidwell and bego?

A swap deal (i.e. Sidwell plus cash) for Byram would be nice. I think Byram is going to be an England International one day and he fits the profile of a young player who could be worth a lot in future. Sidwell's wages would cover Byram's initial wage (he's only 21) and signing Byram would keep out home grown quota up.

Even with sidwell in a deal for byram he'd still cost the best part of about 7 mil, sidwells probably worth about a mil and they want 8 for byram, no chance!!

If Sidwell and N'Zonzi leave would we need to bring in two replacements?

My abiding memory of Sidwell's contribution is chopping people down on the edge of our own box and costing us all 3 points against QPR.
Up there with Demar Phillips in the bizarre signings camp.

Can you see that happening Lakeland? I can't mate, I don't honestly ever think we've been seriously linked with him. I just think people are putting 2 n 2 together n making 5 because of him watching his pals at tranmere n our barca links. I'd love us to sign him but I just can't see it, especially with enrique's recent comments regarding sergi.

Problem is that Barca can't sign a replacement until January but they do have a player out on loan who they are trying to bring back IF the loan contract he signed allows it - bit of a legal minefield apparently.
