Interesting then that Sorensen is still awaiting international clearance. The sentinel article mentions he will go into the U-16s side we haven't got one surely they must mean the u-18s?
As for Taylor I thought he was a winger how long has he being playing left back?

The little I've seen of Taylor I think he's better suited to left back. Time will tell I guess.

Anyone seen/heard anything of Verlinden? I only ask because he's turned shit hot on Football Manager

I often wonder if there will ever be, a true connection between the academy and the first team
be nice to think a conveyor belt will at some stage start to roll, providing real top class talent into our first team squad
not just 'nearly men' - I mean - real home grown top drawer premier league players

Anyone seen/heard anything of Verlinden? I only ask because he's turned shit hot on Football Manager I've seen him once. He was one of the better players on the pitch and they varied from Ryan Shawcross (first game back from injury) to Chris Birchall to Moha. But he was up against a 21/22 year old left back and had him on toast. One game obviously is nothing to make a judgement on but it was promising viewing!

I don't know who writes these reports! Chris Marquez wasn't even with the squad, the 18's goalie injured himself in the warm up so Stoke played with the U16's keeper. Stoke had good chances in both halves, just couldn't find the net. Even MUTV said Stoke could count themselves very unfortunate to come away with nothing, and they are about as unbiased as Pravda!

Our academy is a very expensive white elephant. Our raw talent needs to be better and our coaching more intensive and refined. So far it has achieved virtually nothing. There are first division clubs that have brought through as good a player. We need to look at the whole structure of it.

I think the structure is in place, with the possible exception of a covered playing area and the necessary connections to send u21's out to good quality clubs on loan to gain experience.

Ryan O'Reilly has gone to Wrexham on loan for the rest of the season then.

Good move for him.
He's a decent defender but I don't think will ever make it past League 1 (and that's with a good wind) but I think he could sustain a lower league career.

I hear young moha is struggling to settle, isn't fit and is struggling with weight loss issues that we can't seem to get to the bottom of.
Reckon he may well head back to Spain in the summer

I watched him a couple of weeks ago in the cup game at Rushall Olympic and he didn't look very happy! Mind you, it was feckin freezing, the pitch was all over the place and their midfield were intent on booting anyone who took two touches of the ball. I can imagine he was questioning his decision to leave Spain!
