Mikel wants to leave Chelsea for regular footie. Let's add him to the swap deal too.

Mikel would be a good signing for us

Anybody getting the feeling that Asmir is finding it difficult to get himself a 'bigger' club?
Perhaps when the DeGea deal is done the GK merry-go-round will start.

Mikel would be a good signing for us Think wages would be an issue here. He was on 70k per week back in 2012 so probably still now and above our current max.

Even if something materialises it's a huge decision for Begovic and N'Zonzi isn't it. It's conceivable that they could both do well for themselves, but I'd say there are also short odds on both of them discovering that the grass isn't greener.

Other than the wedge, I can't get my head around why Begovic would go to Chelsea. He'd play a handful of games and has a record of having a whinge up when not picked.

Does this mean that we could potentially end up with 3 left wingers? When we actually need to strengthen the right side.

We never tried it (we never got the chance as Arnie was out of favour and then Moses got injured) but I wonder if Moses would do well on the right. He can still run past defenders from the right and he loves a dinked cross to the centre forward, which he could probably do better from the right. Moses and Arnie in good form and interchanging would do me though.

Begovic wont leave for the number 2 jersey he has stated so unless Chelsea offer him first team football week in week out i cant see this happening.

I think Bego is having to tread a delicate line here - as Pugsley says I don't think the options he was expecting have materialised .... yet. He might well have decided that he is now guaranteed international football and has more chance of picking up a few medals as Chelsea's 2nd string keeper than he has through being 1st choice at most other clubs. He could therefore sign up for 3 years or so and take considerable comfort from the massive salary he will no doubt be paid to twiddle his thumbs on a Sat afternoon. Just hope which ever way he jumps he does it sooner rather than later so we can plan accordingly.

Cant see it pal Butland did well when Hughes threw him in to the mix at the end of the season but i think Stoke will still make Asmir number 1 unless he dips in form and as we have seen Hughes isn't afraid to drop him.

Man U and Real Madrid are still tippy-toeing round the table at the minute - MU looking for a player-swap into the deal by the sounds of it. Once the DeGea deal is done, the whole domino effect will kick in.

He won't sign a contract so we NEED him to leave this window. If there had no option for him to leave this window he'll leave for free in January.

He won't sign a contract so we NEED him to leave this window. If there had no option for him to leave this window he'll leave for free in January. Not quite how it works. In January he is entitled to agree a move to another club in Europe but cannot transfer without SCFC agreement, which would mean some sort of transfer fee in practice. If Stoke said no then he can't move until his contract expires,i.e. summer 2016.

However because Butland looks good & ready if Bego leaves at the very last minute on deadline there is no problem for us.

Maybe Begovic thinks he can displace Courtouis, highly unlikely he actually will but footballers can be incredibly arrogant. Good luck to Begovic wherever he goes but it's important we cash in as it'd be ridiculous for him to go on a free next summer if he won't sign a new deal.

With the way Chlsea price up their players, maybe we'll do well to get Moses AND cash for Bego?
But suppose it depends how badly they want a top No.2 if they've got the chance to get one. Mourinho seems mightily pissed about Abramovich giving Cech the okay to go to Arsenal, and he won't be happy if he has to settle for a waster like Rob Green for the sake of a few million

I would expect something like Moses +2m for Beggo. Based on the estimated 8m Beggo valuation.
Not too bad for Chelsea in that case. They get a player they don't need off their books (Moses) and keep 9m of the supposed Cech to Arsenal fee. Having replaced an old keeper for a much younger one....on lower wages.

After the 6:1 tonking of Liverpool I was sincerely hoping that the likes of N'zonzi would be able to see that this Stoke team/squad is going places... as long its starlets don't get all dewey eyed about a short cut to a cup or medal, which could lead to them spending every other week sitting on a bench where they are less integral than with us.
