£13 million for a 33yr old keeper is a lot of money.Bego will almost certainly cost less.Chelsea are getting the better of the deals in my opinion. I wonder why Arsenal didn't go for Bego I think the thought of doing business with us is as abhorrent,as we would find doing business with them.

Hopefully this will give us the £10.5M quoted somewhere, or Moses + £4M!

Hopefully this will mean us getting Moses. Yeah I'd definitely take that. £4m + Moses for Asmir? Didn't they value him at 8mil, if he was to go Chelsea it would be a straight swap if he was involved.

What a joke, yet we're rumoured to want 8 million for bego and 6 Million for zonz? Bego is 25 and easily as good if not better than cech! Quite annoying actually!

Bego and nzonzi would be very good business for villa at a total cost of 14 million so you can see why they would let interest in both be known

I am hoping Wenger asked about Bego and Coates told him to do one! I hope we never do any business with Arsenal as long as Wenger is at the club. The disrespect he has shown to our club and our captain has been an utter disgrace

I remember when they brought in Pat Jennings and everybody (almost) thought he was too old, but it really wasn't that bad business!

Villa have more potential as a club than us though. Where they are now is well below their par.
With a fair wind, they are a top 6 club when the club is prepared to invest and back their manager. Sherwood is also a very underrated manager in some quarters, and is overlooked because of the image he portrays.
A club of their size should be finishing top 8 each season with their eyes closed, and qualifying for the Europa League each season as a bare minimum.

I reckon that the number of people a club can pull through their gates has less and less to do with their 'potential'. It's far more to do with who owns them and how the club is run (FFP doesn't seem to be having any effect in the real world) . As such Villa and the likes of Newcastle and Sunderland are a very long way from being any use to players who are looking to achieve things in the game.

Reckon Forest would be a good move for him an all. Shocked Preston aren't in his mind too, they had a couple of top players at the club back in the day.

Whilst accepting that Villa are a big club, chances are they're not going to outflank Stoke any time soon - so why would Begovic commit his best years to their 'project' when Stoke's looks so much more established? I can't really understand Begovic to Chelsea either. It must be very flattering for a footballer when Mourinho bats his eyelashes at you, but he's effectively retiring if he goes there. He might get a couple of Wembley appearances, but why would you want to be the next Ross Turnbull?

Potentially a massive club, but if any turnaround happens, it certainly won't be during his peak years and he wouldn't give them the time of day. It's been hinted that he'll be promised a lot more games than your average No.2 - and your traditional Chelsea No.2. And that'd have to be the case for an established keeper to voluntarily sign up as a No.2 behind a 23-year-old with a huge reputation and 4or 5 yrs left on his deal. Suppose a personal meeting with Jose, a 5-yr deal on £70,000-a-week, shots at League/FA Cup medals and a few Champs League outings would tempt you to a degree. But, especially with early Cup exits, you could be looking at some very, very fallow stretches on the bench through the winter when you're wondering if it's all worth it (admittedly you'd be living in a mansion in Hampstead and have a stable of Ferraris while you were doing the wondering!)

All true, but I'm not buying the Chelsea thing. A bit of silverware and long spells on the Chelsea bench, where's the attraction in that?

With united now looking at Lloris will he be happy on the bench for Chelsea? Would Spurs be looking at Bego then? Meanwhile, the French sports daily also claim Real Madrid captain Iker Casillas may join Spurs as a replacement for the United-bound Lloris. Not to sure pal after reading this?
