Well if you're being fussy there are 4 strikers I just named who are ahead of him. Factor in the fact we will most definitely be playing 1 striker wingers definitely become competition for forwards places. I think I would even take Andy Carroll before him, another one I have just thought of. Andy Carroll? Again, have you not witnessed Woy's policy? If he scores 8-10 goals this season I think he stands a better chance of going. I don't agree with that but I think he will.

Premier League goals this season: - Vardy 14 Kane 8 Sterling 4 Rooney 2 Sturridge 2 Walcott 2 Oxlade - Chamberlain 0 Welbeck 0 That won't matter.

I still think he is. I wouldn't take him the Euros if eveyone else is fit, like I said a few weeks ago. And I wouldn't want him playing for us tbh. That doesn't make any sense. You would have him at Stoke but not for England at the Euros. If he played for us scoring like he has being at the Foxes and wasn't picked this MB would have a meltdown.

It's no coincidence Shawcross had his worst game on Saturday, it's because he came up against his most difficult opponent. He always has a bit of a mare against Carroll. Okay, he didn't score and we kept a clean sheet but it might have been a different story if some of West Ham's better players were around him. He caused enough problems. I know he's made a bit of a laugh stocking about that transfer fee but at the time he was definitely worth that much to Newcaslte United as a football club because he was keeping them in the league. He is unique especially in terms of international football. Come next June, you imagine your Ashley Williams and Harry Kane has been running you down the channels for 2/3 of the game and you see Andy Carroll coming on to replace him. It would be a nightmare for most defenders at the tournament. Jamie Vardy wouldn't scare me though.

You wouldn't have wanted him running on to Arnie's through ball in the last minute on Saturday? Right-o. Even my little lad recognised that had dioufs chances fallen to vardy we'd have been going home with 3 points and a serious mental in our memory bank. Stick Vardy in our team and it would be us not Leicester at the top of the league. I wouldn't swap our position with Leicester's, as daft as that might seem. If they keep it up then fair play to them but as of now we have got an unbelievably stromg squad and manager and are well positioned to claim a very high league position over the course of the season.

Jesus wept. The England point is a nice distraction from the original point and opening messages on this thread. I can understand you diverting it down that route to try and avoid embarrassment. Firstly - you were massively wrong. Secondly - on the England issue, if he keeps finding the back of the net, Roy will find it impossible to leave him out. It's pretty simple.

These references to Shawcross and having a bad game are baffling.

Stick Vardy in our team and it would be us not Leicester at the top of the league. It'd cost 20m, he's played well for 3 months. He's not worth it. Is that really the point. The lad is on fire, scoring lots of goals from few chances, in a team that is flying. I wouldn't spend 20m on him either but I'd have loved him to have bern on the end of diouf's chances on Saturday. Had he been, we would have won. He should be starting in the England team right now. It shouldn't even be a debate.

Rooney is in the driving seat as he's still scoring international goals and there's nothing wrong with that either.

Who says the way England are playing is the right way given the talent (or lack of) at our disposal. Vardy and Kane both deserves starts ahead of others. Kane doesn't have the number of caps his form merits either.

Maybe Williams would rather wrestle Carroll and go for his headers than run back towards his own goal with Vardy doing about 35mph!
I think he could have a role in the Euros. He will make teams sit deep and leave more space in midfield. This might help the way we play. Also, it gives us the option of knocking it long down the channels when we win back the ball.
He's got electric pace and is a good, confident finisher at the moment. Gold dust in the modern game. We haven't got too many others like that...

Theo Walcott. If fit, it'll be him.

I agree. Theo will have a role too. We are not going to out play many teams. We need to play to our strengths. I actually think Vardy might be a better finisher at the moment. He's confident at the moment and might have a dip if the goals dry up.
Our back 5 is so poor, if I was Roy I'd be playing a narrow 4-4-1-1. My 2 centre mids would be sitters in front of our suspect centre halves. Might have to be Dier (no one else) with Carrick (because of his passing).Kane/Rooney drops into midfield with Vardy up top supported by 2 more flyers out wide, Walcott and maybe Chambo or somebody like that. I quite like the Palace lads, Zaha and Puncheon.
Go back to front fast and use our pace. Don't hold out much hope whatever happens, and wouldn't be surprised if we don't beat Wales.

Walcott is your pace man! There's a difference between having a wrestle with a target man and having one with Carroll, he very rarely loses a header.
