Bournemouth away on a nice hot summer day, make the weekend of it but we'll probably get them on New Year's Day Boxing Day 5.30 ???? We will most likely get them on a Monday night, 8 oClock KO.

None of the promoted teams as they tend to pick up points at the start of a season and then fall away. Didn't both Leicester and Burnley do well against us at the Brit last season.
We also don't want a team with a new manager or a TP team.
I would suggest we don't want a club on a high who finished last season well.
Doesn't leave many teams - perhaps Villa.

The dippers would be totally mindfucked...

Liverpool Probably the one team I wouldn't want. The expectation levels will be far too high. Some middle of the road team at home, Villa or Leicester.

Not bothered as long as it's not arse at home. We want them on a nice cold wet blowy wintry afternoon in November. Aside from the big 4 games we must be the first fixture they look at. I can just imagine wenger looking at the fixture list thinking "When have we got them retards away?" ????

I've also realised that I will be in Rhodes for the first game, so I've reconsidered my first answer and now I'm hoping for an away game first up, somewhere like Newcastle or Sunderland because I never go there anyway

Chelsea or Man U home. Its a win win. They could be caught cold or if we lose at least it'll be one of the big teams out of the way.

Yes Wednesday, let's have Chelsea or The Shit away, we never get anything there normally so we might just catch them out in the 1st game. Then win our 1st home game.

Likewise, particularly if we have new signings match ready. Whoever we bring in it would appear that we are looking for pace so might catch them unaware.

Are we changing the dimension of the pitch this year ? think I read we were.
If so a middle ground club away on a large pitch first, followed by a middle ground club at home , rather than starting with a big club at home ,only to find our passing game and fitness isn't quick or crisp enough early doors.
If we are changing , hopefully (presumably they will) the dimensions of the training pitches will also be changed , and at least some of the pre season friendlies will have been chosen for their pitch size

I don't think it will be a problem as the pitches at Clayton Wood will also be enlarged and no doubt the pitches in Cologne will be larger than ours was last season.
