Anfield will be utterly poisonous when we come away from there with 3 points on Boxing Day !!!

I would have lost that bet. Oh well. If the dippers want their descent to continue, who am I to argue?

He was within a Steven Gerrard slip of bringing the title back to Anfield for the first time in a quarter of a century 12 months ago so I guess they took the view it would be a bit harsh to dispatch him now after a comparitively poor season.

" a "comprehensive plan" aimed at ensuring performances improve next season"
Surely the best way to make sure of that would be to get rid of him.

The Europa League is also a huge problem for them, they are far from a decent side and their interest in the likes of Danny Ings says it all really. I'll take a guess and say that we'll finish one place above or below them.

Not sure about long gone Mailman, but I think he could be gone by Christmas. He's Shite. The news on Miseryside is that he's dead....end of September . I'm not sure why they'd keep him Mumf. He has apparently spent over £200 million in two seasons. Judging them on last season they look as though they need to spend another £200 million. Surely they won't trust him with another wedge of cash?

I'm not sure it would be my choice but it's nice to see faith being shown in a manager. Unless you're one of the biggest clubs, there are a lot of highs and lows in football and he's been unfortunate in that it's been what was probably considered by many to be a huge overachievement followed by a huge underachievement. I do think they spent the Suarez money extremely poorly in that he, himself admitting at the time, was spending the money to improve the squad but, that being said, he now has a reasonable squad of players and if trusted with the money could end up with a much improved side next season.
Of course, Balotelli hasn't been taken into account here but I'll put that down to Rodgers' naivety of thinking he could control and get the best out of him.
Edit: Reading my post back I realised I've said it wouldn't have been my choice followed by all of the reasons why it would have been my choice, so on the other hand, he's messed up and wasted a lot of money on average players.

I said that there that a decision would be made on Wednesday . I said that he may leave . That will happen by the end of September if the club doesn't dramatically improve .

Of course, Balotelli hasn't been taken into account here but I'll put that down to Rodgers' naivety of thinking he could control and get the best out of him. I would see it purely as arrogance and a deluded self belief in his own, not proven, ability. Jose will praise him to high heaven because Jose knows, while he is there, it's one less team to worry about. Bottled the title, bottled the Champions League, bottled a FA Cup Semi Final. I'm glad he's staying.
