Any third choice players I presume. Possibly backup players who don't want to drop down the pecking order. I expect to keep the first 11 with the exception of Beggo.

So we've lost:
Palacios Edu Soro Wilko Moses Assidi
So we have abit of room I'd guess.

Is Ness still registered as one of our 25?
Huth will go imo, Bego will also leave but we will bring in another GK
We may use the option to allow players to go out on loan?
Teixiera, Shenton
Of course it's sensible to complete signings before releasing players - doing business at the start of (before?) the start of the window will give us more options

Looking at the squad I think there are about 5 places up for grabs at least. Huth, Wilson, Shea, ness, Wilkerson, Tommy, Moses and if Wingy don't sign there is another!

I thought we might not bother with Wingie which makes it easier. But that area really is congested now he's seemingly signed a new deal.
Walters or Crouch will have to go.

Nobody. It's a squad game, just look at this season.
There's nobody I want out.

By my reckoning assuming Huth and Ness go we'll have 3 squad places left.

He's scored more than Ireland, Arnie & Moses put together. We'd have another Messi on our hands if he'd had a good season by your standards then.

We need to keep the likes of Walters, even though he a Tory, he's very much the fabric of the club and can still do a job. I expect him to play less next season but then again most of us say that every year.

Barring Sunday he hasn't played well since QPR, taht's 3/4 months and before that he was his usualy trundling self. He looked a bit better when he was in and out of the side but he wasn't great or close to. People mentioning player of the season which is just laughable.

He has but Moses performed much better than Walters and didn't have the license to almost play as a second striker. Ireland has barely played and me and you can finish better than Arnie! Walters played well against Liverpool for a half but other than that since January he's been awful and before that he was merely ok with the odd good and odd bad game thrown in. He'll be excellent from the bench next season but he shouldn't be starting week in, week out.

You are the Sepp Blatter of the Oatcake. I wish people bribed me. It amazes me the slack Walters gets because he works hard. God forbid if Mame Diouf had been dreadful from Jan 31st to May 24th which is what Walters has been. He hadn't scored from February 1st to May 23rd. But it was barely mentioned.

I don't understand this obsession with getting rid of players. We shouldn't even be thinking about losing anyone who has been in or around the first team this season.

To keep improving you have to get new players, to get new players you have to get rid of old players. If it means we have some good players replacing Wilko and Palacios then great but is that really doable for a club of our size? In every attacking position bar the left wing we've got two starters who will be on 30k+ a week. Can we afford to add to that without getting rid of one of them? I think there is room one ie Moses but more? I think someone would have to leave. So you have to ask do you want to improve or stand still? And often in the Premier League standing still means going backwards.

Bojan makes Walters a better player too...(even though bojan was not part of his hat trick)

Correct, but this is the art of management. Knowing who to keep and who to let go. It could be argued that in a former life we flogged a dead horse far too long.
