quote author=" mailman44" source="/post/4715825/thread" timestamp="1432722871"] It should be abolished and they shouls start fresh set up, FIFA it's borderline organised crime syndicate. Next evolution mate, FIFA is a corporate crime syndicate.[/quote] "The government’s case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Evan M. Norris, Amanda Hector, Darren A. LaVerne, Samuel P. Nitze, Keith D. Edelman and Brian D. Morris of the Eastern District of New York, with assistance provided by the Justice Department’s Office of International Affairs and Organized Crime and Gang Section." You're both pretty close. It appears the US government consider FIFA to be an Organised Crime Gang. Uncharacteristically astute of them.

Fifa crisis: South Africa 'admits $10m football payout'
South Africa did pay $10m (£6.5m) to a football body led by Jack Warner, a figure at the centre of Fifa corruption allegations, local media say. Danny Jordaan, head of South Africa's FA, is quoted as confirming that the amount was deducted from a Fifa payment to the country in 2008. A subsequent letter requested that money to be sent, instead, to the Caribbean Football Union, reports say. South African officials deny it was a bribe to secure the 2010 World Cup.

One for the lawyers?
Are the accused likely to have their accounts frozen or will they be at liberty to use 'allegedly' ill gotten gains to fund their (no doubt expensive) defense attourneys?

South African officials say it just coincidence and an unfortunate misunderstanding and Sepp Blatter is the kindest nicest man on earth. :-)

The thought has occurred to me that Sepp might not be on the take. He may simply be a power crazed sociopath, and let others do what they wanted, as long as Sepp could play the king.

I think it'd be even funnier if we was actually as naive as he suggests and genuinely knew nothing about the bribes etc, that'd be brilliant.

Okay so they admit that there were bribes for votes in the South Africa Campaign.... Surely this throws extra doubt on the Qatari and Russian votes?
