So there is still a section of Liverpool support that is both deluded about their club and contemptuous of ours, with no reference to the reality of what happened. All our players can do is run more? My 76 year old dad is a bellend?
Scousers really enjoy sour grapes.

It's not just Liverpool though is it, as nearly every time when Stoke easily beat (insert team name) it is seen as the ultimate low of lows as no-one should apparently lose to little old Stoke. I think it's pathetic in one way but also an insult against our Club.

It would be nice to think that this result would trigger the same fall from grace for the bindippers as our 5-0 at Wembley did for Bolton.

I think it's pathetic in one way but also an insult against our Club. Basically teams that come to out play us rather than park the bus run a real risk of getting absolutely hammered. Only Chelsea have been better than us for 90 minutes home and away. What we need to do next season is learn how to beat the teams that park the bus (or try to play on the break if you prefer ) and that will require the services of a god like genius. Fortunately Bojan should be fit problem solved

He's a one off voice in a huge outpouring of anger
There's huge anger in Liverpool over that result and virtually none of them are referring to the Stoke game as meaningless
This result has tipped the scales for Rogers

It appears the tide has turned. For me out of everything that happened on Sunday, Rickie Lambert's cameo showed him up more than anything else. After playing 65 minutes (in fact most of the season!) without a striker in his XI Lambert comes on, wins his first few headers and links the play. Within two minutes he's nodded on for Gerrard to score. Well in, Brenton.

And what exactly did we have to play for? If we follow that argument, then we can say what would the score have been if our lot didn't have their minds on the beach?

There was a scally on talk sport tonight and he was extremely critical of Rodgers tactics and lack of knowledge of how we played. To be fair to him he did firstly congratulate Stoke on a great performance and thought our formation of 3-7 was brilliant

Bloke is clearly a tit.
As of Sunday they had not secured their Europa league place.
Nothing to play for? Dream on son.
Making the knockout stage of the Europa is a good run for you lot these days

Clearly the guy is deluded but if you look at the comments section the majority are criticising him. A few even praise us, for example:
'Is it not at all conceivable that Stoke actually played well?
All the attention seems to be focused on “Liverpool couldn’t be arsed” “Liverpool didn’t show up” I think it’s extremely unfair and disrespectful to Stoke city after what was an excellent team performance. It takes a little bit more than “running more, as that’s as they can do” as you so arrogantly claim'

It was Gerrards last match. It’s cost us a few mil. It means our season starts earlier than wanted. It interferes with our pre season It interferes with the renovation of the main stand It put massive pressure on the manager It was the culmination of a run of bad results and poor performances, not just a one off. It’s very much a meaningFUL match."

Arrogant enough to be an Arsenal article. They'd want to be careful, otherwise we might start turning them over every year, like we do with the arse.

Rawk was in meltdown again when I popped on. One thread was on 126 pages probably on about 300 by now. It's worse on there than it is on here after a bad result. Mind you 6-1 is hard to get over

I think how your team plays when they have nothing to play for gives a good indication of how things are going behind the scenes. Stoke players played with a lot of pride on Sunday and made me feel very positive about next season. Closing the opposition defenders down like we did when winning 5-0 was great to see.
They can send the £1,236,083 they lost (by losing a place) to me if they like. In fact just the "083" would be handy!

he missed the REAL reason why Liverpool actually lost....
Steven N'Zonzi was absolutely imperious! best player on that pitch by a country mile. devastating performance by him on Sunday, literally cannot think of enough adjectives to describe his performance.
