that's a good starting point for a bidding war with other teams. maybe Chelsea will offer 15m and cortois why would Mignolet move here proberbly slashing his current wages and why would we want him hes been a shambles all season. good goalie but id rather let Jack B have a fair crack of the whip.

Imagine what stupid money he is on at Liverpoo. He ain't getting a fraction of that to sit on our bench. Anyway I'd rather have David Forde as back up for a fraction of the cost than Mignolet (and just for the record I definitely don't want Forde). I've said all along we need a Shay Given/Tommy Sorensen(2 or 3 years ago) type keeper as back up to Butland who wouldn't let us down if called on but would help bring Jack along as well, not a big shot desperate to get in the first team ahead of him. Goalkeeping (and goalkeepers) is a whole different ball game to outfield players. Paul Robinson? Someone like him yes. Not sure if he's still playing but he's the kind of keeper I'm expecting in as no. 2. Steve Harper?

Mignolet is one of the worst keepers in the league! Our backup keeper needs to be someone cheap who is happy to sit on the bench.

Fucking Mignolet? Seriously? This guy is utter horse shit and I wouldn't want him anywere near the club. Butland will be deservedly be our man between the sticks next season and he is more than good enough, we need get as much as possible for Bego and get some back up in for a 1 m or so, maybe an emerging keeper from the lower leagues? Dead right.

The thought of Liverpool offering Mignolet plus cash for Bego has probably crossed a lot of peoples' minds, although £10M + is a bit of a surprise.
Doubt it would happen though as Mignolet wouldn't want to come here to be No 2 to Butland and Liverpool, in their present situation, are hardly the step up that would tempt Bego.

Begovic has made mistakes that will get highlighted a lot more at a bigger club, just like with Mignolet. Similarly, Mignolet's mistakes will be less remembered at a club like Stoke as oppose to any world class saves he pulls off. I don't think for one second that Mignolet would be as bad as some people are making out.

As comedians from Liverpool go I think Mignolet is right up there with the best.

It's alright saying he would be a good backup but I dont think for 1 second Mignolet would accept that. He could still be the number 1 at half the clubs in the league regardless of how we currently rate him. Then we should take the deal and sell him on.

So, De Gea back to spain, Lloris possibly moving back to France (PSG), Liverpool looking to upgrade Mignolet and Arsenal looking to upgrade Ospina. It seems like we could have the perfect storm for a bidding war over Bego (Asmir and Cech being the top two Prem-proven GKs likely to be on the move this summer).
It does make you wonder if we could see a large transfer fee. A year ago, I would have thought 12-15 million was the max we would be offered -- and Bego didn't really finish strongly here. But maybe we will see something in the 15-20 million range given that there appears to be a shortage developing at the top of the table.

I agree and believe he deserves to be at a Premiership club where he will get the top spot in goal I also think that it is important that we get an experienced goalkeeper to challenge Jack for the first choice here In the equation is the fact that Rodgers doesn't seem to rate Mignolet and I think that Begovic would have a better chance of being the No 1 goalkeeper at Liverpool rather than Man Utd for example - he might decide that Mignolet in the deal might favour Bego going to Anfield Agreed on all accounts. Mignolet showed some excellent ability at Sunderland, perhaps he has flopped more to do with pressure of playing for a much bigger club.I have seen some rather ridiculous suggestions to say that we should not take a keeper worthy of challenging Jack as we could do without the confusion of who would be number 1. However, all it takes is 1 injury and then we have David Forde in goal... Must be that 'weight of the jersey' thing that BR is always going on about.

So they are basically saying, we will give you £8m for Bego, plus we will give you £2m to take Mignolet off our hands.

It's really not just one day. Mignolet was dropped earlier in the season because he was shit. He only regained his starting position when it dawned on the genius that is BR that Brad Jones is even bigger shit.
