I hope after yesterday the knockers will give Charlie a bit if credit for what he has brought to the team in the last few games. Yes, Nzonzi was majestic, but Charlie was not far behind and actually lasted 90 minutes. \we still need Charlie's creativity and shooting power next season

The difference in his performances home and away is still an issue. At home he is utterly majestic and is now completely running every game he plays. Away, for some reason, he is completely anonymous. I'd give him a new contract in a heartbeat though. Seems a thoroughly decent egg.

He'll be fat and unfit for 6 months when he comes back, history shows he's only fit enough from January onwards. Let's hope he keeps himself in good shape over the summer.

Is that you Joe? If so, it's not Tony serving me a slice of pie but Charlie. Cannot fault him or any of the lads.

The recent formation in which he and N'zonzi alternate between deeper and forward midfield positions has been key to the last two home performances. It has been made possible by Charlie cutting out the silly challenges which give away fouls and bookings, and N'zonzi being willing to go forwards with purpose.

Best thing about Adam's performances over this past few months is that it show Bojan he has a fight on for his shirt. Ireland has never doen enough to make it remotely difficult for Bojan, Adam has. Competition will be great and hopefully if Bojan isn't ready to start the first game, Charlie can continue his form on

The thing I love about Charlie is that whenever he gets the ball he only has one thing on his mind - attack. Never a scorer of an 'easy' goal, a proper entertainer.

Charlie has been superb over the last few months but as Momo says the difference between "home" Charlie and "away" Charlie is there for all to see.
Love him to bits though, a real "make it happen" type of player.

Not this year, he's in the Scotland squad so will be training and hopefully playing to the middle of June, and would expect stoke to be back early July, which only gives him 2/3 weeks to lose his fitness, the Scottish team will keep him sharp over the summer

He has had some great games recently especially at home , we have had a few of our flair players deliver in the past two home games and when it comes together we look a good team , the hard thing is to do it more consistently and that is our next challenge I guess but beautiful to watch the standard of play in our last two home games

As I've said on another post, I don't want to be drawn into individual performance comment after one of the greatest team victories in the history of the club that people will remember for half a century or more, but you have to concede that Charlie lead the cavalry charge yesterday and put his stamp on the Stoke approach from the first few minutes that others then followed. Possibly his best ever performance in a Stoke shirt.

Frankly everyone on the pitch in a Stoke shirt yesterday should be offered new and improved contracts purely on the strength of that incredible performance.

I agree with both yourself and Momo but that accusation could be thrown at the majority of our first teamers for the majority of the season.

Every time a loose ball comes out the 18 yard box I'm hoping Adam is first to it. He is a really good reader of a game to and can create goals

Superb at home, fairly anonymous away and therein lies the dilemma. It's a squad game though and he's a matchwinner so there should always be a place in the squad for him. How to get him and a fully fit Bojan in the team could be interesting though?

A lot is no doubt due to the mentality factor that exists in football and more importantly how players approach away games. That said we've earned more away points than in any previous season and Charlie probably highlights the difference between home and away form better than anyone else. In his case I think due to the natural mentality shift on the road his "on the front foot" attitude isn't there and his game suffers as a result.

I think that last paragraph just about nails it Jamo,as far as Charlie is concerned. We have a lot more of the ball these days at home and when we are bossing games he comes into his own,he always wants the ball and his first thought when he does get it is getting the ball forwards, which is something that our side doesn't have when he's not in there. My mate has been saying it since last season that he should play every home game and not so often away and I'm starting to see why now.

It may be possible to alternate him with Whelan, play Adam at home and Whelan or whoever if a replacement comes, in away games. This will keep us solid away and have Bojan, Adam and Nzonzi in a more attacking formation at home. With Muni and Shaws in centre defence we are quite solid through the middle.

Having Adam as an option is a massive bonus. He always wants to play the killer ball or have a shot, which is needed in today's over play every attack style game.
He will however have the odd shocker where nothing quite works out. He might be better off playing a few safe 10 yard passes when he's not quite on song, but then that would take away from what makes him a different and dangerous game changer.

He was excellent in the first half but probably should have been dragged off after 60 minutes yesterday, he looked fucked.
He's done excellent in the home games though it has to be said but he should never start an away game for us again.
