Not too concerned with this. If you leave it to the fans then then you're always going to get a biased result.
We all know what the real goal of the season was though, just like when Crouchie missed out. It still gets played more than the one that won it, and so will Charlie's.

A shame for the Arse that their internet warriors show more fight than their players.
You can't trust the public to vote.

Yeah was Cisse. That was at least a worthy contender though. Wilshite was even close.

The goal Adam scored against Chelsea is without doubt the best strike of a football i have ever seen! Peter Crouch against Citeh without doubt the best goal i have seen from a stoke player technically wise and both should have won goal of the season.

to be fair when Crouch lost it wasn't down to voting, it was down to Newcastle fan Alan Shearer who obviously wanted Cisse to win. Crouch won the official one, as will Adam.

Diouf at Man City, Bojan v Spurs and Arsenal, Adam v Chelsea and Southampton and N'Zonzi today are all better goals, and that's just from one club.
Matty Phillips' goal for QPR at Palace is better than that and it didn't even get on the shortlist.
Truly pathetic.

That Wilshere one would be lucky to make it into the top 50 if they had done it properly.

Is there a separate official one? Yeah Barclays always do (or used to) a programme on all the best goals and then have someone choose the goal of the season. Cisse's came second.

The only reason I'm so bothered is because they occasionally play the goal of the seasons on MOTD from years gone by. Imagine that Wilshere goal being played in 2025. You'd look back and think, 'how fucking shit must that season have been?'
That is assuming MOTD lasts that long. It's on it's deathbed at the moment, pathetic show.

Out of curiosity, what goal got voted ahead of Crouchy's? Thanks mate that's what I figured. I've always loved that goal, it was one of the few I've ever seen you can argue is better than Crouchinho's.

This is what happens when you judge something on a phone vote. Arsenal attract twice the crowds Stoke do, so it stands to reason that they'll get more votes if their team is in direct competition - and especially given our history
If Tom Pope had scored the greatest goal in the history of football and the Sentinel had opened a phone vote we'd have voted for a goal that had come off Steve Sidwell's bollocks before a Vale goal.
Stoke City players have scored the best Premier League goals in two of the last four seasons and it doesn't matter how many shandy drinking southern bell ends have voted otherwise.

Spend too long analyzing the games, the analysis that they do isn't a patch on that of Sky Sports, often just simply using cliches and pandering to the glory hunters of the world by giving them what they want to hear and ignoring the needs of the real football fans. Not enough highlights. I appreciate that they only have so long to fit in to the programme, but if they cut some of the crap discussion out, they may be able to fit in a few more clips per game. Hardly watched it this season to be honest, they've said the same thing every time we have been on. "Mark Hughes has done a good job.", "Steady mid-table club, but the challenge will be to make the step up.", "You know what you're going to get with Stoke." etc. etc. Could employ a chimpanzee to do the job that Alan Shearer and Danny Murphy get paid a fuck-load to do, and it'd still be the best looking one on the show. Not once have I seen a quality bit of analysis on the performance of a Stoke player or the tactics we employ to beat the likes of Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool. Every time it's about the sh*t defending of the opposition. Tonight was the perfect opportunity to do that by analyzing the performance of one Steven N'Zonzi and they instead decided to talk about Liverpool's failings, Brendan Rodgers and replay Steven Gerrard's consolation about 4 times.

After watching the arsenal twats' goal and nzonzi's goal yesterday one after the other, over and over again... how can anyone judge the smoking bandits' the best this season.. as said before. it wasn't the best of the day... in fact I think Crouchy's was better for the move, the perfect cross, and the perfect header

Ridiculous,Wilshere's goal was a tap in compared to Charlie's. Willshite's goal wasn't even the best goal scored on the final day of the season, ....... N'Zonzi's was much better.
