Well I can safely say we will get 'null points' with our turgid effort

Well I can safely say we will get 'null points' with our turgid effort Am I the only one who thought it was really good? I haven't heard one person say that they like it but I think it's fun, bouncy and got a nice sing along tune. (sounds a bit like the old Potato Waffles advert....'Birds eye potato waffles, they're waffily versatile'...need to be about 40 plus to remember that one)

The big lass from Serbia could do well.

So with a massive points tally of five , then I think one can safely assume that if this mood is replicated in Cameron's negotiations then we are truly ducked .... Despised and hated across the whole of Europe . Up the creek without a paddle . Just imagine what this would do for our economy if we left ...?

So a song contest is a judgement of a country's popularity in Europe is it? Well Russia finished second. Everyone in Europe must love Russia then? Or maybe Europe just thought, as i myself do, that our song was just shit!

Germany got nil points, how's that fit in with your theory that a song is tied into the heart of the European Commission ?

Loads of crap acts doing their best to pass for something half decent and entertaining. It's like Europe's got talent with political voting. Some people love it though, so good luck to them. Personally if I ever watch it again it will be because I have become incapacitated and am unable to reach the remote control.

Sometimes you have to look at the wider picture before drawing conclusions. Or you should. But not our Eurobile contributors. Any half arsed innuendo is good enough for them.

My wife loved it last night - she watched it with some friends even doing the voting stuff. They thought the Swedish winner was superb. I saw it (that song) this morning and thought the performance was indeed superb, but the song was typical euro pop shite. Then again my wife thinks cricket is shite! Opinions eh!

Too many mediocre singers. A couple of really bad ones an only a few great voices. That's what bothers me most.

Because of the 60s and early 70s Great Britain feels that we have a strong musical tradition. Clearly it's not true. It doesn't matter whether it selects its songs by popular vote or by committee; whether it uses international vocalists to deliver them or tried and tested entertainers to carry the national hopes. If the Russians could get second in this one the famed "political voting" excuse is a non starter . The British don't know how to write a catchy tune that lifts the heart and embraces the psyche. We are officially crap songsmiths, should snatch our ball, tuck it under our hairy forearms and go home.
