Can't stand too much frettwankery. And there's a bit too much mock Devil worship going on with the 'Unholy Three' for my liking. I like Budgie and Creedance Clearwater, oh and 'Bad Motorcycle' by Montrose... you can't go wrong with the bouncing Bear. Music back on the EE? it'll send me over t'edge.

Canned Heat - Great choice! I bags "Going up the Country" for my funeral, or maybe "Into the Fire" - Deep Purple...

Nick Drake deserves a thread of his own. Criminally underappreciated at the time.
His music is ubiquitous now, you can hardly turn on Countryfile, gardening or property progs etc. without hearing Nick in the background somewhere; and every tom, dick and harry has him down as an influence.
This album Pink Moon is pretty stark and sounds to me like a man resigned to his situation. Painfully beautiful.

Dweezil does Frank proud with this version of Inca Roads. And this is the best 30 minutes of music you'll ever have the pleasure of listening to... Thanks for posting these! Brilliant!
Inca Roads is spot on as you say.
I was trying to think of my favourite lyric, Cozmic Debris is up there but More Trouble every Day has to be in the top ten. This version is based on the Live at the Roxy (top album!) version and has the drumming down pat. The song is from Freak Out which although released in 1966 was mainly written in 65. Remarkable!
Great Stuff!

I don't want to stray too far from the OP's original premise but...
There is some live German footage on YT but the quality is poor.

Two more from the Black Horse Jukebox. Up the Pinks!
Turn this up to 11 to fully appreciate it's subtlety!
and the flip side...

Talking about underrated, Tony McPhee and The Groundhogs. A recentish discovery for me, I hadn't heard owt by them until the 90's. Brilliant.
A rather good record label took it's name from this track.
Some great riffs, listening to tracks like 'Rich Man, Poor Man' there are definite influences on The Pistols and Punk. I think Tony McPhee is/was localish, well I saw him in the Old Brown Jug a few years ago.

There is some TV footage surviving - probably on YT. They made 2 or 3 albums before, but it was "Split" in 71(?) that broke them. Massive after that. 3744 James Road sticks in my mind, might be on "Hogwash". Haven't heard that in years.

I recommend these if you want modern "classic rock".

Hearing "Big Eyed Beans from Venus" on John Peel's Top Gear was one of my defining early teen moments!
It felt like there was a whole new world out there that I was totally unaware of and it was just ready and waiting for me to go and explore!

They tried to tame Don and coiffeur his mane. It wanna happening. Too much Peyote...
Still havn't been able to listen to 'Trout Mask Replica' from start to end.
'Big Eyed Beans' etc off of 'Clear Spot' is marvellous, what a fantastic album, summons up thoughts of a lost year in Chester..... My favourite track from that album, this week is....
Beautiful.
