I really hope this is not what it seems if it is... this is a sad day for our club.

The fact they said the train was travelling from London to Stoke is a big clue
Why not London to Manchester

Didn't we have a thread about this a couple of weeks ago, it was a Stoke fan boasting about it saying it was really funny....!!!! I could be wrong....

Disgusting behaviour and shameful if they're attached to our club. No doubt some will blame the police or say it's only a laugh and part of the day. Hopefully those responsible will get identified and have the book thrown at them. If it's discovered they're attached to our club I hope we put out a statement condemning the incident and Send those affected an apology and a nice gift. Knowing PC that's just what he'd do.

If this is related to us then it's time our support started policing itself and a few heads start getting cracked.

If this is related to us then it's time our support started policing itself and a few heads start getting cracked. Not that easy though is it? Group of young lads abusing a disabled kid on a train.... say one fan takes a stand and gets a good kicking. Worth it? Most people would say probably not. It's a shame this shit has to be associated with our club, but unfortunately, there's plenty of complete and utter airheads that go round looking for a fight, mouthing off anyone in their path and generally thinking their 'representing innit youths'. Instead, they make our club look like backward hillbilly dicks from the English equivalent of Alabama. Not fun.

"They're appealing for anyone with information to come forward and say they're working on a report after a number of similar recent incidents." Not the first incident? There is normally a little grainy photographic footage to go with these kind of things, without that I don't really see where this one is heading except to serve as a future warning

The sad thing is like its been said one person says something and then they get a kicking off said dickheads. I've seen it before where some clown starts gobbing off somebody tells them to shut up then the clowns mates get involved because somebody is picking on their mate.

Let's be honest. We've got some absolutely vile, morally-bankrupt c&nts that attach themselves to our club.
Again - assuming that these idiots are a minority - where's the self-policing?

This seems to have become a bit of a thing in the last couple of seasons... maybe not to this extremity, but certainly groups of young Stoke fans acting rowdy and obnoxious, justifying it as "banter" or whatever. Seen it before on the trains, not an ounce of courtesy to people who are clearly intimidated by the presence of a group of "men" drinking, shouting, swearing... save it for in and around the stadium and the pubs and try to behave at least somewhat respectable in public places ffs...

Trains don't run from Euston to Stoke, they travel north from Euston calling at Stoke. Not saying it wasn't a Stokie, God forbid, but let's get the facts shall we?

The train they're referring to is the London Midland one that normally goes on to Crewe.
I suppose there's absolutely no reason why it couldn't be Villa fans returning to a Midland station from Spurs that day or any number of London club supporters who live in Watford for instance.
Seems odd that they know they were football supporters but not given the club?

Reminds me of when we played Bolton in the FA Cup Semi Final,,,we were in/out of the Wembley Tavern celebrating but at the same time giving respect to the Bolton Fans going home on the coaches who were clapping us. This 25 odd stone, bald, tattooed thug with a Stoke accent asked me why we were clapping the scum opposition..and told me it's about "Fear and intimidation" and i should be ashamed to be a Stoke Fan. I said i'm actually a Stoke Supporter here with my Friend and Sister...who also support Stoke. He mouthed a few expletives and carried on drinking..but you don't really need peasants like this TEST

The 18.46 is the London Midland service, destination Crewe. Stoke is the penultimate stop. The report refers to a group of football fans "taking the train between London and Stoke". I interpreted that to mean that it was the fans not the train going to Stoke. Given that we were playing in London that day, I think we may be deceiving ourselves if we try to convince ourselves that this might not refer to Stoke City fans.

I think you're right Malcolm but what's stopping BTP naming the club the fans supported. They've certainly done so in the past for other incidents.
