Great skills and technical ability but not a prolific scorer

Looks like he has everything to play the lone role but goals.
Maybe just maybe if Hughes can take him and drag some goals out of him...

Is this why Scholes was really at the Sampdoria game last week?

Sometimes a player just needs a few lucky breaks and a bit of confidence and he'll start banging them in. He's clearly got something to be recognised at international level. At the very least would be good cover for Diouf.

He played for Hughes when he was on loan at Fulham so Hughes will know him as well as anyone in England. Must put us in pole position if we are interested. Won't be very expensive as he only has a year left on his contract.

"Italian International" is a little disingenuous to describe a man with 1 sub appearance against Albania but I guess it is technically correct. I must admit I do hope the decision to offer Crouch a 2 year extension proves to be the right one rather than a bit of misty eyed nostalgia on our part. Imagine if in our striker search we could add the Crouch wage to what we already have we could really come up with a rock the city signing. Fewer, better players, he said for the 907th time on these pages

Good player, big, strong and very pacy. Not explosive pacy like Diouf but great maxspeed. He has scored some really great goals but dont seem to score those "easy" goals that u need to get 15+ a season. Would be a great signing I reckon.

Just what we need...a striker that has to be taught how to score. But he will be cheap.

Why not? I trust sparkys judgement. If he see's something in him I'm all for it, especially after working with him at Fulham.

If Italy is on our radar for a striker, there are better players out there. Time to look at the teams that have over-performed, like Sassuolo and Palermo, maybe Genoa. A few that would be on my list: Mbaye Niang - AC Milan (On loan at Genoa) Domenico Berardi - Juventus (On loan at Sassuolo) Luis Muriel - Sampdoria Okaka or Eder fall a bit behind these

Pretty sure Berardi is the new hottest prospect in Italy so that's a no go. Niang could be more up our street though.
