Thought he was quality today. Covering the tiring Charlie Adam and the lazy N'Zonzi. He is always in the right place at the right time defensively and we looked a lot more solid with him back in the spine of the team.

He was alright. To slow on the ball at times.

By more solid you mean we didnt get out of our own half until they scored? Whelan, Nzonzi and Adam were the root cause of the problems today. Unlike there central midfield ours barely made there way into their half and were more interested in playing with there back to goal all the time. We barely got the ball near diouf today and certainly had no support higher up the pitch.
Whether they were instructed to or otherwise it just didnt work and sparky should of seen this. I wouldnt feel a loss in the slightest if Adam or Whelan left in the summer. We need player who are willing to work and confident enough on the ball in the oppositions half.
I havent seen us play badly or not try that often this season, its a shame this one came in such an important game. We just looked completely toothless

No room for Whelan and NZonzi in the middle of the park as the ball just doesn't go forward with both of them playing. Id put in Sidwell next week for Whelan but long term we need someone who can pick a pass and create from the back. Whelans a good servant but to move on we need better.

No bugger will ever convince me that a midfield of Whelan nzonzi and Adam will get us anywhere. The whole lot slow, boring, predictable and at times pathetic.

Midfield was shocking today. They were causing us all sorts of trouble. We played with 3 midfielders and couldn't compact the midfield or track the runners.
Shelvey and Gilfi were never tracked and could of had a brace each on another day

Got to agree with sportsman on this one. It doesn't really inspire you with confidence, does it!

Shelvey is good isn't he - would have been a great signing. Siggurdson is a notch above too.

Sigurdsson on the other hand....marvellous player.

Sidwell mate, you having a laugh? Most games he's come on he has conceded silly fouls and some of those fouls around the penalty area cost us at least two goals and points. He has been a really big disappointment for me. I was more than happy when we originally bought him into the ranks, thought he was a solid signing at the time but he's turned out to be a major disappointment.

Zonz was below par and Charlie could have sat next to me for most of the game without any negative effect on our performance so Whelan had very little help.
I thought he did his best in the circumstances but was still totally bossed second half by Shelvey and Siggurdson.

Dembele or nzonzi? Come on get a grip. I'd love a complete new midfield behind bojan. A beast of a holding player, an energetic hard working midfielder with an eye for a goal that enjoys making runs into the opposition box, and bojan just in front of them. Simple and obvious as fuck.
