Two of our local sides have made the Evo-Stik play-offs which is some going.
Castle play tomorrow night (Tuesday) at home to Sutton Coldfield Town. Just to add to the fun their manager is a foul tempered West Brom supporter who doesn't take kindly to any mention of them being our bunnies!
Leek are at home on Wednesday night to Gresley from Derbyshire.
Both sides are worthy of your support and I'm sure it will make an enjoyable good old fashioned football evening for anyone who goes along.

If either club gets promoted, they will be one division below Stockport County, if I've looked that up correctly?
Presumably this is already the highest Newcastle Town has ever been. How much higher is it feasible that they can go? Could they make it all the way to the Conference, as Leek did a few years ago?

Let's not forget one of our fallen local teams. Norton United. RIP
However if it's a choice between leek and newcastle then I say go on castle.

How do the play-offs work at that level? Do they have 2 legs and then a final etc?

One off games they are indeed.
If Leek win their game the final will be at Leek on Sunday.
If Leek go out and Castle win the final will be at the Lyme Valley on Sunday.

Yes, and I think this system is fairer than the one employed in the Football League. The team who finishes higher get home advantage. But of course the higher up you get, the more its all about the money. Good luck to both Have seen them both this season, I thought Newcastle were very impressive. A Newcastle/Leek final will be worth a visit. That would be at Leek of course. Leek will have the advantage of their opponents Gresley having to play a Cup Final tonight as well having had a tough game at Stafford on Saturday in which they had to play their full strength side, and their goalkeeper broke his collar bone.

I hope Leek get promoted as Buxton are in the league above, along with Matlock and Nantwich. Also Hyde will be dropping down from the Conference North. So could have 5 teams quite close to each other. I've been to a few Buxton v Leek games in my time so fingers crossed!

I'll try and make both games as I know lads who play for both teams. A Leek v Castle final would be pretty special.

Good luck on Saturday Leek.
Better luck next season Newcastle, maybe automatic promotion.
I hope both teams realise that the dreaded Blyth Spartans lurk in the league above.
