Attachment DeletedLike the away kit. Home kit? Collar and cuffs should be white, as should middle stripe. Socks should be white in my opinion, but red's ok, just as long as they're not hooped! What's the beef with the red stripe down the centre? You'd think we'd never done it before... Sorry patrick, I always imagine this one!!!

Predominantly white shirt, white collar, white cuffs, white shorts and white socks with red turnovers is how it should be done IMO. Don't dislike the supposed designs mind.

Would be interesting to look back through the years to see which has been more prominent, although white with red stripes seems much more accepted as are true colours but in my lifetime I'd guess it's been 50-50. Looks to me like the central stripe has been red more often than white over the last 30 years or so.

What's the beef with the red stripe down the centre? You'd think we'd never done it before... Sorry Patrick, always think of this one!!! For sure - a white stripe in the middle on our greatest day! But red centre has been well used. On the other hand, as has been pointed out on this thread, red cuffs instead of white ones. That is a no no.

Warning - sad act stuff to follow. Based on this link, we have had a central white stripe for 59 years, a central red stripe for 45 years and both for 8 years. The pinstripe horror show doesn't count. There is also one year where the warm weather kit had a red stripe and the cold weather kit had a white stripe. Although there are exceptions, the red stripe is very much a feature of kits from the 90s onwards, where 18 of the 22 kits have had a red central stripe.

I think we also need to take in to account the hi-tec shirt from the 80's which had a red stripe either in the middle, to the left, to the right, slightly off centre OR it had a white stripe either in the middle, to the left and slighltly off centre They were awful quality. This link just highlights that our kits are at their worst when we fuck about adding black flashes, cuffs, chest panels and red shoulders and other such rubbish.

Friday then. Home and Away together - is that different to recent years? I've had a gutful of that home and away bollocks. They are always advertising it on the box over here. Give us good old Eastenders I say.

I can't believe there's so much discussion about which stripe should be in the middle. Nearly every kit for the last 20 years has had a red stripe in the middle? Does it really matter? Proper anorak stuff here.

Forget the red or white stripe in the middle debate, we should be marching on HQ demanding a change to that terrible terrible badge of hours.

For the picture at Wembley the kit has a white middle stripe but the one of the team posing with the trophy has a read middle stripe?

not too fussed about the central stripe but for me the shirt should be predominantly white, with white trim
Red trim is more like a Sunderland top

Fantastic, I was going to do this when I got home but glad someone beat me to it Also backs up my suspicion of the red stripe being more prominent in the more recent history, amazing how random useless facts like that one still interest me. I like the home shirt, think it's nice to see the colours have been played about with (red collar, dark red pinstripes)... but these images are legit anyway. Has anyone noticed that the collars look identical (bad photoshopping in particular on the away) and there is no inner-label on either shirt to suggest they are geniune?

HOORAY, back to my favourite subject; SCRAP THE RED, WHITE AND BLUE(blue?) CARTOON BADGE Im surprised Coates hasn't already addressed this situation. The fact that Vale's badge is a much better representation of the City and it's heritage also really grates on me. Maybe it's time the supporters council actually made this a big deal and we looked to get something done about it.
