Just how good a signing has he been? Don't get me wrong he's not the worlds best but a real consistent performer for us, feels like he's been with us for years. He and arnie are pretty good down that left side.

We certainly need a right back before we need a left back.

Pieters is the best player we have had in the left back position for a very long time.

Not a patch on Danny Collins You should be putting one of them winky things on the end of that else you'll be getting some pelters.

I like him. Strong, ruthless in the tackle. Top man IMHO. I also love the way he always comes round and applauds the fans at the end.

He's nails in the tackle, full on commitment all the way with Erik.

His link up with Arnie is brilliant, they both always seem to know where the other is. Strong tackler, good anticipation and decent enough going forward. Class signing.

I like Erik. He's a good player and also a good TEAM player; he's a little bit unsung in that regard. You often see him offering an encouraging word or pat on the shoulder to players around him. ...and as mentioned on a previous thread, he was instrumental in dealing with Woolly's spat at the lino and ref yesterday against Sunderland - ensuring it was kept to a yellow card and not the potential RED card that could have ensued if Woolly had gone on the way he was!

The best left back at the club by a mile but was very poor yesterday. A League 1 player had him on toast for the most part.

His clearance when he covered Wollshied's mistake was absolute quality reading of the game.

hes an absolute rock and is fast becoming one of my favourite players with his no nonsense defendin, his hardworking and a true teamplayer plus his link up play with Arnie is great to watch. if only we could clone him and teach him to be right sided we'd be sorted.

The guy has been solid ever since he arrived. He knows his own strength and weakness and is a real team player.

Will fucking Buckley did him for the goal which was a complete fucking nightmare for Erik as his teammates were happy to point out and he looked scared shitless for the remainder of the game.

He is a defender. He will get done at times. The kid flicked it past him and beat him for pace over 10 yards.

Will Buckley was on the pitch? He was excellent. Yeah tall lad for a winger. Made Erik look extremely foolish about 48 seconds in. You must have noticed him? The only defender to come out with any credit yesterday was Shawcross and he wasn't brilliant.
