my Jury is out to seasons end but I think today went along way to deciding where my decision is probably going
i.e there is better out there - much, much better - and, we should be looking for better really

Shawcross getting a free pass again just because he's captain? He and Wollsheid were wank today.

Woolly flatters to deceive, he's actually slower than he looks and he looks bloody slow. I am definitely in the "don't sign him" camp. Can't hold a candle to Huth and I'm convinced it is he that is affecting Ryan's game too. Blaming the linesman for one of his many cock ups today was just embarassing. Hope he doesn't play at Swansea, he needs to be dropped, just not good enough and it's heart in the mouth time every time he has the ball in close proximity to an opponent. Thank you but no thank you.

Shawcross is struggling because his back is fcuked. He's been rushed back and he needs a long summer break.
Or is he now another one to add to the scrap heap?

Today he fell out with Hughes and was lucky not to get sent off for his spat with the linesman, referee and Pieters. He's one of the slowest players I've ever seen and I think we can do better.

This guy is absolutely terrible. For those of you who play Fifa Ultimate Team, his pace on there is 51 which to be honest is pretty generous. He makes Richard Dunne look like Usain Bolt. I reckon even the beast Jon Parkin could do this guy for pace

He seems a lot more comfortable on the right side and I think (hope) he's on trial as a replacement for Ryan if he were to leave in the summer. Looks awful on the left.

The football first coverage doesn't show wooly in a good light at all.
Every chance Sunderland had came from a mistake, at some point in the build up, by wollschied.
He had a nightmare day.

Shawcross getting a free pass again just because he's captain? He and Wollsheid were wank today. Yet he saved us from certain defeat with two outstanding tackles.

Wasn't actually. Didn't say I thought he'd PASSED the trial. He does seem better on the right tho.

Shawcross getting a free pass again just because he's captain? He and Wollsheid were wank today. I don't think Shawcross is 100% fit after his back injury ,but he is not helped by Wollscheids total lack of strength and pace, and today he added indecision to his repertoire ,he was by far Sunderlands greatest threat today.

ever considered the information you base your judgement on could be insufficient? Maybe he was Mr. Hudges 2nd central defender still standing. but nowhere close to being part of a starting eleven under normal circumstances. Could have been. How you know it wasn't? OK. you never know. Why not just say that it wasn't his day.

I actually thought he was a good player before today who had recieved harsh criticism at times but now I'm genuinely worried about him playing at all, real eye opener today.

That has to be one of the worst performance i have seen by a centre back for many years.Ryan wasnt far behind, the times he gave the ball away.Considering Sunderland didnt have many attacks, our defense looks terrible, and god help us at Swansea if we defend like that. We still should have won though

Philipp Wollscheid trail every training initially to physical therapists: "This is less than in Germany worked on the court," says the center-back of the Ninth Premiere League, "but more in the Physiopraxis and in the weight room." Seven single therapist check the pros before each unit. Tensions, inconsistencies, hardening, "the eighth day on everything", says Wollscheid, "that's quite a difference to Germany." The club of manager Mark Hughes will draw the option well, after almost four million euros to Leverkusen must be remitted and Wollscheid is bound for the next three years to the second-oldest existing football club in the world (after Notts County): "The signals are positive, "says the Saarland and adds:" That is in my mind. As the vast majority of colleagues from City he does not live in Stoke-on-Trent, but in the south of Manchester. The city has done to him for a reason in any case: "Here come alone four darts player ago that are among the top ten in the world madness.." After all: As it stands today, also Philipp Wollscheid has met with his election the mark.

Still a bit surprised that a.) Hughes has seen enough and b) Wolly would be happy to settle for being a squad man here.
But it does seem to be happening

I hope he does really well if we sign him permanently.
My gut instinct is that he won't flourish though and he worries me greatly.

I hope he does really well if we sign him permanently. My gut instinct is that he won't flourish though and he worries me greatly. If he does sign he'll get my full support, just like he will if he plays against Liverpool for whatever reason. But we really shouldn't sign him and he isn't really good enough at all. Scares the shit out of me Jamo.
