Me too, Wooly got motm yesterday, although he wouldn't have been my choice. I think we have missed Huth all season really. Higgy made the point last night on talkshite, that it is amazing how many goals Stoke concede from set pieces now, because managers want the back four to be footballers first and defenders second.

Love the man. Hate the way he is helping Leicester to near survival! Would have him back in a heartbeat. Can I just add, one of the neighbours grandchildren met Mrs. Shawcross at a do of some sort in Crewe. His mother said that she was very nice and down to earth.

Wooly was not at his best yesterday. Repeatedly knocked off the ball, looks like Bambi on ice when in possession and was at fault for the goal as he completely lost his man.
Bringing back Huth must be the biggest no brainer of LMH's managerial career. Could you imagine the carnage Blackburn caused to Wooly happening to Huth?

Huth's doing very well for Leicester now, proving that he only needed a run of a few games to get back to his old form.
Must be obvious to Mark Hughes, that Huth can sort out our defensive problems next season.
BTW, I don't see Wollscheid as the great footballing centerhalf like some on here apparently do. His passing yesterday was average at best - not the new Beckenbauer ....

Wollscheid lost Fonte for their goal, poor marking.

Letting Huth go is one of the very few mistakes the manager has made whilst being in charge but for me he needs to swallow his pride and get him back for next season. From what I've been told this won't happen but for me it's a big mistake

He's still more than good enough to command a place in our defence.

There were rumours of a falling out weren't there? It must have some substance, unless its a purely financial motive?
Huth must be one of the high earners?

Huth is still one of the best defenders on our books.
I hope he returns to Stoke asap.

Wollschieds distribution is on occasion woeful, 3 or 4 times yesterday he spongged a pass straight to Southampton, is generally quite slow and runs like a ninny. Huth has his limitations also but is overall a better player IMO, plus you can never rule out a Huth set piece goal.

I would see him back in a heartbeat but Mark has his team and clearly feels Wolly can push on. Time is on his side, unlike Huth.

to be a force we need four good centre backs to really push on for cups injuries and even europe (if we make it again soon) so if Huth is happy not being first choice then;
Shawcross - Muni partnership
and
Huth - Wolly partnership

We're 9th in the Prem it's not like we've been conceding goals left, right and centre because Huth has left which has led us to being a relegation scrap. Yes we've conceded more goals from Set Plays but theres no real proof Huth would have changed that. I just don't see how you can classify it as a mistake, think you might be letting sentiment get in the way of judgment.

Wolly's distribution has been excellent throughout since he joined, yesterday was the only game I can remember where it hasn't been up to standard.
