Said it before and I'll say it again. Stoke has always had more than it's fair share of moaners. Even when we were top or near the top of the old first dvision and winning the League Cup, Terry Conroy and Peter Dobing used to take a lot of shit when they had an off day. Must be something in the blood or the beer.

The hypocrisy is part of being a football supporter. We all have it in our DNA to some extent. As for booing. I have no objection. People have every right to express their frustration in this way. The tipping point for supporters is different. If you are expecting them to be more tolerant of under performing players then can't the booers ask for the same understanding from you? Isn't that a form of hypocrisy in itself? Despite the 3 points, today was very frustrating at times...and no, i didnt boo...not even at the TV. I can understand some booing and over the years been a Stoke supporter there as been many a time it could be justified but please explain why it is appropriate to boo while we are chasing our best finish for 40 years, If only some of the people put the same amount of effort into trying to lift these under performing players as they do to spitting out their abuse they may find it has a much better effect, I know which i would respond better too maybe you are different.Sadly the reputation our support had for been one of the best is as out dated as our prowess at set pieces as we are slowly bur surely turning into the very type of support we once derided and that to me is a fucking crying shame. [/quote] Can't argue with that too much.I dont tend to boo the team. You are right in that positive reinforcement is better but a load of booing to express your displeasure may work occasionally. As long as it does not become the norm because then it would lose whatever impact it was supposed to have. I see booing the team at a footy match a bit like swearing and racism. You can tolerate a small amount but too much becomes uncomfortable. In fact,no I don't. Booing the team at HT/ FT occasionally is ok.Booing an individuals mistake during play is never ok. Consistently abusing a player, just like persistent swearing or casual racism gets on my tits.

Ive been going stoke for 45 years and I do miss loads of goals because im drinking in the cess pit of a bar , stoke is tattooed on my arms and in my heart but I am also a raving pisshead, so just being at the ground with brother stoke fans is enough for me, I can watch the goals through bleary eyes on sat night or sunday morning .! Not having a go, but if that's the experience you want then just save your money and go to a pub or a bar! I'm not questioning your support or your love for City, but I just find that viewpoint hard to comprehend, I spend all my week thinking about watching Stoke City play, not thinking about being hammered during the game (getting hammered is saved for after the game for me ) Each to his own bud .
