People moan. It is human nature.
But, I've never understood why folk don't watch the whole game. If it was down to me the seats would be like those on the rides at Alton Towers. When the game starts a barrier comes down that stops you leaving your seat. It isn't lifted until the players have left the pitch after the final whistle.

Quite ugly wasn't it.
I mostly go to away games where the support is far more partisan.
I must admit I was taken back by the vitriolic hatred for several of our players around me.

Atmosphere was none existent. Boothen end was like a fucking library apart from the moaning twats who cannot wait for a misplaced pass to hurl abuse at one of our players. Some did boo at halftime as well which is just baffling now i know we weren`t winning, which some think is what we should be doing no matter who we play against in fact the opposition are not meant to have a touch of the fucking ball if you believe all the bitter comments thrown at some of our players if we do not win the ball immediately back, 29 seconds into a game is the actual record this season for the obligatory "for fuck sake Stoke this is shit, get into them" Now It may be human nature to moan but it is also the height of hypocrisy to go from calling a player every name under the sun to singing his virtues once he taps in the equalizer.

The hypocrisy is part of being a football supporter. We all have it in our DNA to some extent. As for booing. I have no objection. People have every right to express their frustration in this way. The tipping point for supporters is different. If you are expecting them to be more tolerant of under performing players then can't the booers ask for the same understanding from you? Isn't that a form of hypocrisy in itself? Despite the 3 points, today was very frustrating at times...and no, i didnt boo...not even at the TV.

Encouragement should come from us not negative shit like that....if we are negative with the players they are very likely to say..." Fuck it and fuckem" and just not bother......that's a very dangerous game to play in my opinion......I go as a supporter.....when I'm pissed off with the team I go quiet but I can't see how shouting to certain players "you're fucking wank" or booing a team off at half time helps good job our manager is not so mardy and negative

I can understand some booing and over the years been a Stoke supporter there as been many a time it could be justified but please explain why it is appropriate to boo while we are chasing our best finish for 40 years, If only some of the people put the same amount of effort into trying to lift these under performing players as they do to spitting out their abuse they may find it has a much better effect, I know which i would respond better too maybe you are different.Sadly the reputation our support had for been one of the best is as out dated as our prowess at set pieces as we are slowly bur surely turning into the very type of support we once derided and that to me is a fucking crying shame.[/quote]

I didn't hear any unpleasant abuse towards players in block 23. None that wasn't a light hearted bit of fun, I.e. People shouting "come on Arnie, put your arse in it" lol. Just mainly jokey stuff. There's one fella who does like to shout "come on Stoke these are fucking shit" which some might misinterpret but he's been saying it for long enough that I'm confident he's not saying it about us

There's a bloke that's rocked up behind me with his wife this season that does exactly this. Whenever our player makes a mistake its 'fucking hell arnie you fat fucker', get up diouf you useless cunt' etc..
After 15 years in the same seat I'm going to have to move before I smack the prick.

It wasn't you pissing in the sink 'balls n all ' was it Fraise? Why did I know when I saw your name that this wouldn't be a serious question Ok just this once I'll be serious. You're right about the support being shite yesterday, in fact some people seem to go every game and be intent on doing nothing but shout abuse. Guernsey Dave is right, we seem to get behind the team when we're up against it, but have become like most other teams now we are comfortable in mid table. There's a couple of blokes who sit in the row in front of us who come 10 minutes into the game and leave 15 minutes before the end of each half every fucking game. They are first to the bar, but must miss about half of the goals we score. Don't get me wrong I enjoy a moan as much as the next man, but I can't see the benefit of booing or abusing our own players. It's one of those things that is never going to go away though. And that is the only sensible thing I have to say on the matter.

I'm not questioning your support or your love for City, but I just find that viewpoint hard to comprehend, I spend all my week thinking about watching Stoke City play, not thinking about being hammered during the game (getting hammered is saved for after the game for me )

We have all become a bit blasé, I don't normally react negatively at games but I got really irate for the 20 minutes after we scored the first. Think we have lost too many at home this year to take another one.
