I'm going to say it now that we've won.
I'm losing patience with N'Zonzi because I think he is the problem in midfield. We need a proper box to box midfielder.
There I've said it now and I feel much better for it.

It was a sitter and any professional footballer should have buried it. Despite that, I still think he was one of our better players today. 1 - Diouf 2 - Ryan 3 - N'Zonzi/Arnie[/quote I thought Ryan had an off day today. Looked very shaky at times. Disagree mate, I thought it was a better performance that he's recently put in since coming back from injury. Still nowhere near the player we all know he is, but hopefully after a break in the summer he'll be back to his best next season.

Definitely one of his worst performances this season. Lost the ball and missed passes more than usual. Most of the passes he did complete were backwards or to the side. Looks like he could use a rest.

Awful miss and a little sulk ( I think he was tiring and not enjoying the advanced midfield role late on) but still one of our better players on the day.
Get him signed on a long term contract.

It was what used to be referred to as a cap wafter. In other words he could have wafted it in with his cap. Crouch missed another. All is forgiven and forgotten when you win.
Still an excellent player who needs a new contract.

Did anybody see that he went in 2 footed on Pelle? That was in the middle of him having a rate sulk for 10 minutes and arguing with Cameron!
Not at his best today but he's one very very good footballer

Next thing you will be saying that he just wanders around doing everything in his own sweet time and keeps losing procession by passing to players with two or three men marking them. Not allowed I'm afraid

Maybe mom is a step too far, but he wasn't awful either. The miss WAS dreadful but that shouldn't colour your view of his overall performance. He consistently broke up their play and, as usual, rarely wasted possession. I do agree he slows it down too much sometimes, he's just too risk averse. second half the whole team looked knackered to me, maybe my stream was in slow-mo? I thought he was our best player too - despite the miss. Arnie and Wolly were up there too IMO. haha you should have been sat up the back of block 31, this bloke consistently called for Hughes to 'Fuck him off' and left the ground when whelan went off instead of him but yh i thought nzonzi was fine today.

He is an excellent player who played very well but missed a sitter.
Ronaldo is arguably the worlds best player and he missed a very similar sitter a few weeks ago.

He's got all the ability and physicality needed to be a genuine top player. He has a hint of inconsistency and a tendency to drift in and out of games.
TBH I think if he didn't have those flaws he would never have signed for us or spent a very short time with us.
As it is we get a very decent, if incomplete, centre midfielder who is pretty much what we are. Solid, top half of the Prem quality with an elusive hint of potential to break into the top 6.

Didn't play well, but strangely enough it was his losing of the ball in the middle when Southampton broke that kicked us into life.

I like N'Zonzi but he is overrated by many on this board.
He's athletic but can switch off a lot, I also think that by slowing the game down so much he often hinders our potential fast breaks. For his position he needs to chip in with the odd goal here and there.
Don't get me wrong I don't want him gone, but I'd sooner replace him than Whelan in an ideal world.
If we could just inject some of Charlie's drive into his game he'd be one of the best in the league in his position

Thought he took the negative crowd vibes really badly today.God knows why there were negative vibes but there definitely were and it visibly shook him up. I honestly thought today that he felt like giving up,like he felt that the fans were ungrateful towards him.I genuinely felt sorry for him today.

There was a period in the second half and the crowd yet again staring booing, moaning and jeering. He looked right fucked off. These so called Stoke fans are very close to driving a very good midfielder out of this football club! Very sad. Can't say I could blame him for wanting to leave

Thought he was guilty of standing waiting for ball to come to him on more than one occasion similarly to the Beggo blunder against Chelsea. He needs to be far more mobile than he is when receiving the ball, it's why he gets caught out more than he should

Stoke have always had "fans" like that (well, for the 50 years I've followed them). The main reason they go to watch is to whinge, vent their frustrations and ________ (fill in the blank with other psychobabble).

Let's face it, no-one looked great today. However, we, a banged-up, knackered team with "nothing to play for" found a way to beat the 6th place team with the best defence in the league and aspirations of finishing in the top four. FFS what more do they have to do to make people happy? It more than made my day. God knows what this board would have looked like if we'd lost!
Edit: and one more thing 5 points out a possible 15 (1 pt/game FFS) and we'll have our best season ever in the prem.

I thought Ryan was MOTM today, Wolfie not far behind him. Thought they were both a bit dodgy today. Both defended OK but with the ball at their feet they both looked a bit of a liability IMO, the whole back 4 looked a bit off tbh.

That early shot over the bar was a prelude to what was to come.He has no belief in himself in front of goal A 30m rated (on here) midfielder shouldn't devide opinion so much. A 30m rated (on here) should be able to strike a ball cleanly when shooting. Some have him motm even if he's on the bench while others say he was shit. With so little left on his contract the top six should be banging the door down in the next few weeks. I await all the incoming unrefusable offers.

There I've said it now and I feel much better for it. I've been saying for a long time that N'Zonzi is part of the problem. A player in his position should be scoring close to ten goals a season with a similar amount of assists. Yesterday I lost count of the number of times he brought a move to a halt by stopping or moving backwards.
