Apparently hughes feels the song is costing us a fair play table Europa spot, also looks like West Ham or Burnley are getting it, hope Burnley personally

That's a bit of a mischievous spin on things.
Hughes feels the fair play table is a waste of time and that if we are being marked down for singing it then it's ridiculous.

The fair play league has so many fudge factors to ensure they get the team they want into the Europa cup. It is a waste of time I agree with Les. IMO it should be based on red and yellow cards and players cheating, conning and surrounding the ref. That's fair play and fuck all to do with how clubs welcome opposition fans, booing the ref and all the other twattish ideas drummed up to ensure the likes of Stoke City will never win it.

I would hate to qualify for anything via a fair play award. If we had the opportunity, I'd like to thing we'd turn it down. You qualify for stuff because you are good enough. Period.

If we can only get a fair play place provided we turn into Highbury Library Mk2 then they can shove it where the sun don't shine.

What's the date ? this is a joke right ? we get docked points for singing and creating an atmosphere ! As for fair play I dunna agree with it, it's like at school when you have sports day and every child get a trophy no winners no loosers, you either qualify or not I dont want my club to be the "fat" kid who gets the special award.

Hughes: "sod the fair play table, don't ever stop singing Delilah." Sky: "Hughes fears singing Delilah could cost Stoke a place in Europe". Almost as biased as their political coverage.

Considering we have no red cards this season we are doing an excellent job to be 17th in Fair Play table.
Come on lads lets win the things by dropping 3 more places!

This fair play thing has always wound me up beyond belief. It is nothing more than a steaming pile of contrived bullshit. I even emailed the FA over it once As alluded to above, how can a team with no red cards be 17th???????

Hence why West Ham will probably win it. Good luck to them for me its a bit of a poison chalice. Look whats happened to Everton this season. Id love us to be in Europe but only if the Europa went back to a knockout. Playing on a Thursday is a real pain in the neck.

It's utter bollocks. How can we go a season without having a red card and be so far down the league? Surely it should ONLY be based on the players performances? If it's about being all nicey nicey then how can West Ham get it with all the negativity at games against their own manager???

So the fair play league involves an element of being nice to the visiting club, not being intimidating and just basically rolling over for all the so called big clubs? Never going to happen here...goooaaarrrnnn Stoke!

I'm going to be in a massive minority here but Delilah is a crass embarrassment of a song.
I'd much rather we sing We'll be with you

I only wish we'd slow Delilah down to how it used to be sung. Sounds shite these days with everyone trying to rush through it. We've successful sung 'when the reds' slow in the past, why can't we manage with this? Same with 'we'll be with you'. Two songs that would sound incredible if the tempo was dialed back.

If the club were offered a route into Europe this way then I certainly hope they would NOT turn it down, simply because of the financial opportunities for the club.
As a supporter I'd absolutely prefer NOT to get in via this route, but I would not want the club to miss the financial benefits. I'm afraid that's how football is these days.
