The love in next season is going to be sickening. Also I'll bet you a pound to a penny that their fans will be looking down their noses at us when the time comes. Beat me to it - the Bournemouth backlash starts here. Happy to see them get up and in some style. But... They're still not actually promoted and the media love in has kicked in with hurricane force. What's the bet we see a Bournemouth player in the England squad before a Stoke one? And Harry Bloody Rednapp is everywhere! On the positive side - those lovies along the coast in Soton will be feeling jealous. A fickle mistress is the sports media!

Feel a bit for the Pompey fans today. It's like us being in League two and Walsall or Crewe being in the top flight. Must be horrific continuing to suffer like they are. I have no sympathy for them at all, they've had their success in the top flight in recent years and they'll be back at some point.

I think we're going to get heartily sick of hearing about Bournemouth and Eddie Howe. They have done really well to get to this level but the media are going slightly overboard in their coverage, which I can only see carrying on into next season, particularly if they start off with a few good results, and carry on "playing the right way" (hopefully not against us !!).
Media darlings next season already before a ball has even been kicked.

Its good to see a new name in the prem rather than recycling the usual 'bigger' clubs. But as many have said they will be the media darlings next season playing football the 'right way' and I suspect their fans will swallow the hype too. Eddie Howe seems a decent sort of pragmatic guy with his feet firmly on the ground. Lets hope he doesn't join the ranks of wankers like Monk and Sherwood (: Why many are looking forward to a trip to the south coast is a bit premature as the ticket allocation is likely to be in the hundreds. I would fancy planning a trip for this one but absolutely no chance of a ticket (:

I'd have Matt Ritchie on our right wing now from what I saw last night, not to mention his performances during the season. I wonder if anyone will try and buy one or two from them before the season begins although you'd have thought they'll all stay at least one season. After looks a nice player too and Wilson is tidy but what's got them up as much as anything is their style of play and teamwork. They're certainly far superior to the Burnley side and I wouldn't bet against them surviving if they can add a couple or three new faces in key positions. I hear Eddie Howe has already been mentioned as a possible successor to Big Sam.

Jesus...people on here constantly go on about how boring the Prem is because it's the same old teams year after year and how "smaller clubs" can't dream of getting here because of the money required......
then one of the "smaller clubs" splashes that money in order to get here and be a completely New Kid on the Block in the Prem and then people start slating them for what they presume their fans will be like 4 months before the season's even fucking started!!!
this board is ridiculous at times!
fair play to them i say! yes, they'll be the media darlings but isn't that precisely because it highlights what we all used to love about football? the cinderella story as it were...a small team daring to play with the big boys etc. etc. As long as they don't waste shitloads over the summer and don't bankrupt themselves then they'll (rightfully) be a beacon for every smaller club out there that if the club is run properly and has the right investment then the Prem ISN'T a closed shop where only the usual suspects are granted entrance.
it's almost as idiotic as the dickheads on here that still managed to slag off TP when he got us promoted saying "Anyone could do that if they had the money".make no mistake, they've got where they are because the money they used has been used wisely and managed well (as have the team).have any of you idiots ever taken notice of how football works or are you all just far too busy on Pro-evo and Football manager???
hats off to them and good luck next season i say!

Well said. Nearly out of the league to the top table in 6 years is it? They deserve everything they get and personally I'll enjoy the ride with them, two games excepting of course.

Delighted for them, I just hope that some miracle happens and Brentford get into the playoffs and win them
