Was and is shit. He will give us nothing better than what we have. If he was better, he'd have played for better teams than Wigan, Middlesborough and Sunderland

He was a walking red card first half and was anonymous the second. I'd rather have Whelan on the bench or starting than him if he's what people think will take us forward... ugh. I think we can do better in the Summer for a new starting CM.

I only saw those very brief highlights on MOTD but it looked like he played the long ball through with precision and slice which led to the first half 1 on 1 chance for Defoe against Bego which Defoe put in to the side netting and in the 2nd half he won the ball off a dithering Wooly from which without Ryan's wonder tackle Sunderland would have scored the winner.
Sparky loves to go on about players not only being on the pitch but 'changing the game' and I think he may have seen that as being exactly what Cattermole did.
Any reason to think he may want to join us though, seems a strange one?

i don't want him in our team.
I hope and believe that Hughes is taking us to the next level and I don't believe it involves players like him.

I only saw those very brief highlights on MOTD but it looked like he played the long ball through with precision and slice which led to the cross which Bego fumbled from which Sunderland scored right at the start and in the 2nd half he won the ball off a dithering Wooly from which without Ryan's wonder tackle Sunderland would have scored the winner. Sparky loves to go on about players not only being on the pitch but 'changing the game' and I think he may have seen that as being exactly what Cattermole did. Not a patch on Whelan. He's nowhere near. Based on what? Based on years of watching the lad. He's never impressed me. I bow to the manager's judgement if he signs him but he's not for me. He's a better passer than he's given credit for though and he's a rough tackler. Positionally I think he's awful. Count how many times Stoke broke through the centre of the pitch either from a mistake by him or with him caught ahead of the ball.

He would undoubtedly be an upgrade on Whelan but there has to be better out there for the kind of money he would cost.

I have to say I would love him in our midfield. Not only is he four years younger than Glen, but when you compare their passing statistics I really don't think there's an awful lot of difference between the two of them in terms of distribution. Whelan's pass success rate is just over 84 percent and Cattermole's is just shy of 82 percent.

Nope, I love Fuller but his level was us in the Prem. Couldn't have gone higher, he was good/consistent enough. I doubt at this point he would get into our first 11

Should have seen red today! He is by far their best player...but that doesn't really say much does it? LMH seems to rate him and that worries me! It's deffo a NO from me He's a signing that would prove everyone wrong in my opinion. He's surrounded by shit in their team and would be able to play with much more control and less desperation in our team. Completely agree. I'd love to bring him in

Just catching up with the weekends fixtures. Cattermole was brilliant against Southampton. Great distribution.

Just catching up with the weekends fixtures. Cattermole was brilliant against Southampton. Great distribution. I thought he did a couple of right nasty tackles. One where he dragged his studs down both achilles of their left back and also an ankle breaker in midfield that got glossed over by the commentary. I don't want that down Stoke WD

We have worse for bad fouls and little niggles at the club already. Plus his walking red card tag is a myth.

I'll trust the manager's judgement on him. If Hughes thinks he's better than we have, that's fine by me.
