britsabroard, I agree
Like somebody else said, other clubs have a few forums, and you don't always know which is the main one. Everything is here, we have odd minor forums, which I won't dismiss but this really is 'the place' for findind out the latest stuff about SCFC.
Also some people have said its not as god a it used to be. My opinion is its never been better, and a lot of the in-fighting has gone

I think so
But I might be wrong. Obviously I'm, going to be biased, but I struggle to see better. I often go on forums , especially following a game
Also, when we get visiting supporters here, we disagree, but we don't tend to give them total condemnation , we have banter, proper banter and we often quite
complimentary to the opposition with a subjective view. Many fanzines just seem much more aggressive and dismissive
All I would say is , well done fellow oatcakers YES No question about it...

Why isn't it as good as it used to be? Main board is ok, My post was more aimed at the 'Everything Else' board. Just not as funny and as broad as it used to be.

LL..... I remember when it used to be all....I know what you mean, it was ace, but maybe the footy stuff needed to be separated?
Ive been a member on here since 2004, and the Oatcake in its early days (on-line) was superb.
but having said that, its a great fourm, it is

It's probably the best designed fan forum that I've come across thus far. A lot of other teams' forums are swamped with a shit tonne of different boards and weird sticky threads for no reason. Obviously it really helps that the Oatcake has no real competition and is THE place to go for all Stoke fans.
It's great.
I do miss posting about cats on the old GDB though..

You are having a laugh ??? It,s one of the most childish fking boards out there , IF !! you are not one of the 15k posts Brigade , you have no chance of getting your point of view across , you will get shot down every time with whatever you post . I don't have 15k posts and I don't get shot down. Unless I'm talking about Bojan's form when he returns, obviously. Even if I do get shot down, I just carry on anyway.

It's normally what you are used to, whenever the format changes people don't like it but then it goes quiet because people get used to it. To be fair I do think that it is much better than most, I've read some pretty rubbish ones, the easier to navigate the better the site. But I have to say the official Stoke City web site is awful since the format was changed, just trying to buy a ticket is a trial, thank God I've got a season ticket.

I thought the fanzine was shut down years ago, all we have is the forum now. Why? There used to be an online fanzine with news, reports and articles, now we just have the forum. So technically it's no longer a fanzine.

Rivals was bought out by someone it might have been Sky. Soon after it stopped being there and we all came here.

We have the best chairman, locally born and passionate in his support and investment, great manager - who got BOJAN - and the Oatcake. Just like the team, the latter are decent, non-cheating (not including Moses), not crowding around the ref attempting to dominate decisions, not diving to get opponents sent off - the Oatcake, in the image of Super Johnny Walters (our leading goalscorer). Be proud. Be Stoke! (Or should that be 'I am Stoke' - corporate paranoia)

No, there are plenty of users on here but the design is amateur and it still sometimes falls over at peak times. It's decent but it could be so much better.
Rivals.net used to be the best until Sky bought it, ruined it with a horrendous update then killed it - there was far more banter with other teams (especially Cardiff at the time) - mainly because you didn't have to google to find other forums and then sign up with separate accounts.

This...back when we had Cardiff in the play-offs and beat them, there was some right hum-dingers of conversations on the old rivals board....and access was easy Still, this board keeps me away from talking to the lady so for me its a godsend
