I've said it before, but repeat it again! If Odemwingie can come back the as the same player he was before the injury I really can't see that we need another striker. I would of course like us to sign up Moses on a permanent deal! A pool of strikers/wingers from Diouf, Odemwingie, Moses, Walters, Arnautovic and Crouch isn't that bad really! If we should bring in more quality up front we really should be sure the player is an improvement to what we already have on our books!

We need to squeeze some goals out of the side Nzonzi,Whlean,Arnoutivic should score more should be getting 10 to 15 goals from those three Whelan hasn't scored for several seasons! Shawcross should score more full backs should get a few too And Whelan won't given his role for the team.

The short easy answer is "yes", but I think we need to step back and revue the overall situation.
Diouf hasn't been the roaring success we all wanted, but at the same time he has scored at the rate (goals per match) of all the previous strikers purchased since promotion, he has been injured, away on international duty, suffered resultant tiredness, been played out of position to accommodate others in the side and on that basis cannot yet be fairly considered a failure. Lately he has been getting into goal scoring positions and I think the best is yet to come.
But any striker cannot score goals without good service, and this is where the team is weak. Only Bojan has impressed me as being a quality creator of scoring opportunities. Moses and Ireland have impressed at times but not been consistently creative the way Matty used to be. Arni is consistent disappointment to me, talented as he is at ball control and occasionally there is a peach of a centre but most of the time he disappoints. Yes we can always do with a better striker, but surely what we really need is more creative quality. TP bought an endless list of strikers but only towards the end of his tenure did he start to buy midfielders like Adam ( ) and Palacios ( )

Austin has 17 goals in the premier league in a crap side, and should QPR go down they're unlikely to be able to demand as much money for him as they would in the prem, as Austin will know he's way too good for the championship. He's quicker and stronger than crouch who we play as a lone striker often and is good in the air. But most importantly, a proven double figure striker now.
Ings plays with a big striker up front with him at Burnley and he hasn't scored anywhere near Austin, so would he be able to thrive without flick ons etc from a big man?
Taking a risk I would go for Aleksander Mitrovic at Anderlecht, he's only 20, tall and strong and has 21 goals this season. Lukaku came from Anderlecht and they have a decent record of bringing through good youth (aswell as benteke who also came from that league). Also he scored against Arsenal already this season so he's perfect for us????. Likely to cost around 10 million + so it would be a gamble, however this is how teams like Swansea and Villa have profited greatly, by buying strikers with good goal records from 'lesser' European leagues.

Striker has been our problem since the second we got promoted, even when when we had Our Lord Ric and when Beattie saved us.
Striker is the area where we need to pay over the odds and NOT gamble. Everywhere else yeah, take educated guesses, but if we want to break into this top 8 then we need to break a testicle and spend whatever Javier Hernandez, Edin Dzeko etc want.

You're 100% right but we won't and I don't think they'd want to come even if we did, they could get champs league etc and the same wage at bigger more fashionable clubs.
