Its been clear for a while its not about the money for him. Hes not happy being played in that weird wing back role and he realises Liverpool arent winning anything any time soon. He didnt say a single good thing about Liverpool or Rodgers in that interview.
Bad season or not he can almost pick his destination. City will take him for the homegrown quota i reckon.

He's a tit if he joins Arsenal though.
He's got to go to a real contender.

Cant fault the lad, people calling him are clearly jealous. Wants to win trophies, knows he wont win them with Liverpool so will look to move on, if it was about the money he would have took the pay increase when it was offered. Probably the best young talent England have

I actually think he is the most exciting talent in Britain, and at only 20 years he can choose among the top top clubs and he knows that! He is a Londoner by the way and may not be that attached to Lpool either! If Chelsea or Arsenal came in for him I guess the chance of winning trophies will increase compared to Lpool! Must admit I sort of like this as Lpool fans seem to look upon their club as the biggest in Britain! Already flirting with Arsenal in this article.. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32149613Sterling said it was "quite flattering" to be linked with the Gunners, a team Liverpool visit in the Premier League on Saturday (kick-off 12:45 BST). Also the interview was apparently unsnactioned by the club which they are annoyed about So why is he flattered to be linked with arsenal , would he go there to win these trophies he craves so much , think again

Sterling is the most over-hyped, over-rated player ever to rise to the dizzy heights of mediocrity. A status many english players aspire to but fail to make.

he's good but he's not worth £100k a week.
Read the interview and don't blame him for what he's said, definitely leaving in the summer

Given the BBC's wall to wall coverage I can only conclude that Raheem Stirling's contract situation is the number one issue facing the country.
I do hope we have a question about in the party leaders' debate tonight.
It could determine the outcome of the general election and we need to hear their views on it.

Sterling is the most over-hyped, over-rated player ever to rise to the dizzy heights of mediocrity. A status many english players aspire to but fail to make. In the 18 months since he surfaced, as a player he has won ........nowt, has helped his club win ........nowt, and helped England win .........nowt. He can run granted, dribble a bit granted and score the odd goal, granted. There are players all over the world achieving just as much. He is 20 FFS, still wet behind the ears yet calling all the shots. Over exposure and Sky commentators jizzing are what's made him look better than what he is. The miserable little scrote also wants to start playing with a smile on his face, he has a permanent scowl like he's about to burst into tears!! Hope Liverpool bin him off.

"I don't want to be perceived as a money grabbing 20-year old", said the money grabbing 20-year old. So he's on £30k a week and been offered and turned down £100k a week, the £30k contract is for another 2 years and unless he leaves he'll be on said £30k until current contract ends. When I went to school £30,000 was less then £100,000 - money grabbing? Strikes me he just wants to be with a club who have a chance of winning something and money has nothing to do with it, if it was he'd accept the offer. He's Liverpools best player by a mile imo and I believe Rooney and Hart are on over £200k+ a week.

These proclamations that he's not that good are risible. Would we have him at Stoke right now - in a heartbeat. Would he come? Of course not because a) he wants Champions League football b) He want's a big pay day. My guess would be a Bayern or Real will come in for him. What about PSG as rank outsiders? Either way it will be hilarious to watch the Merseyside misery machine starting its engines this summer.

It's all going wrong on Merseyside....
Although anyone that pulls the trigger on a massive deal for Sterling is probably taking a risk?

Hard to see him ending up anywhere but Man City, given the way their name is being shoehorned into every story?
Interesting to see what fee they could get for him if it happens.
There's lots of room for improvement with him and he has got special physical ability - but not sure he's got the decisive finishing ability in his locker- although I thought the same about Cristiano Ronaldo in his first 18 months at Man United!

Liverpool need to understand that players who were born years after they last won the league will prefer to play for serious clubs. To be fair Spurs have been under the same delusional spell for the twice as long.

I actually agree with this. At 20, who can say with any confidence which one he'll end up as? And that makes a whopping fee a bit of a leap into the unknown.
