It's not the money, it's trophies he wants. Then why not sign for someone like Real Madrid for £100 a week?

I suspect it's not the £100k that's the issue, it's signing for Liverpool when chances are they'll win naff all for the next few years.
Reckon he'll go in the summer, he just doesn't want to admit now that he doesn't want to be at a club that doesn't win things.

I don't think he's in any position to be that choosy , he's not had the best of seasons at Liverpool , I'd be surprised if Madrid came back in for him unless bale leaves

He is a nob but I actually can see where he's coming from and he's taking a bit of a gamble if nobody comes in for him.
He's got 2 years left on his 35k a year contract so I can see why he isn't in a rush to extend that.
If he knows someone like Real Madrid/Bayern/Chelsea/Man City want him then he'd be mad not to want to move to them to win trophies and get the money.
I say it's a gamble because he could break his left tomorrow and become a carthorse having rejected a 100k a week!
If he wants to win trophies and he won't be lying about that then he has to move to a bigger club.

He is a Londoner by the way and may not be that attached to Lpool either! If Chelsea or Arsenal came in for him I guess the chance of winning trophies will increase compared to Lpool! Must admit I sort of like this as Lpool fans seem to look upon their club as the biggest in Britain!

His goal tally isn't that great, but I sort of feel he has carried their goal threat on his own young shoulders. No Suarez and Sturridge injured for most of the season as well. He hasn't been helped much by Balotelli, Borini or Lambert either to be honest, so to me he has had a decent season so far.

Wouldn't go that far but he's not as good as he thinks he is, that's for sure. Should definitely stay with Liverpool for the next few years and if he rips it up like Bale then he'll get his move.

Could he already have it lined up? He must be pretty sure to turn down what he's being offered. It's a massive gamble if he isn't.

Seeing as he how did the same to QPR to join Liverpool it's not as if they didn't know what they were getting.
Brenton playing him at left back can't help mind.

Should be a wage cap on players 21 and under. As soon as you throw thousands of pounds at kids they won't be arsed, lose their ambition determination drive ect. You just have to look at Germany for an example, most of their teams have wage caps and look at the younger players they have coming through . Sterling is a greedy little and epitomise's what's wrong with English football. 5-6 years where will he be with his attitude ?

He may well be greedy and a lot of other things but he is a terrific player and great to watch. Wish he played for Stoke, just the sort I like to watch.

I think that English players would be better if some of them went and played abroad while they are young enough to still improve. So if he wants to go to Spain or Italy and play good luck to him, but I suspect it is show me the money

I think little Raheem is getting a touch big for his britches. Did you see that documentary on Liverpool when Brenda took over ? Sterling was too big for his britches back then and got more than a bollocking from the manager. Seems he hasn't changed. He's gonna fuck up his career if he isn't careful. If he does the business for Liverpool the rewards will come, whether it's Anfield or another club. Great players let their performances do the talking

Hes done very very well considering his age.
HOWEVER
You just know he will get a big fat pay-rise, expectations will rise and he will never reach his lofty potential.
I think we can all see it coming. The huge amounts of money is becoming a curse on the game and ruining good players whilst lining their pockets with money they have not actually earned

He's not gonna be grounded because he's never been grounded.
He'll kick and scream his way to whatever he wants and won't need to work as hard as he should to get it.

Already flirting with Arsenal in this article.. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32149613Sterling said it was "quite flattering" to be linked with the Gunners, a team Liverpool visit in the Premier League on Saturday (kick-off 12:45 BST). Also the interview was apparently unsnactioned by the club which they are annoyed about
