Hi all just to start the ball rolling on this but I am afraid our last away game to burnley has had our allocation cut by 1600. Just been informed by my mate and checked it on the official burnley website and its official. They have allocated the 1600 to the home fans and I feel they have done this in hope that they may need as many home fans in with the chance of staying up. Reckon our allocation will be around 2200 to maybe 2400. So all be warned for when you require your tickets as I know us stokies love our last away game.

I'd want us to do the exact same in their position.
No way I'd want 4,000 away fans to crank up the pressure on the team when it's our last home game to salvage 3pts vital for staying up.
I hope Burnley stay up but not due to the result of the game at Turf Moor between us.

Ha, yes it was a bit of a let down but that was totally down to the team pal and they sometimes forget what lengths us fans go to, to follow our team and you indeed made one mighty effort. No not got Liverpool ticket but hopefully that will change.

I agree - if we were in their position we'd offer the minimum the rules required us to offer which is 10% of capacity in their case. Like you I hope they stay up - I have a lot of time for their manager and I have a good mate who is a fan - there are also several clubs which I dislike more AND they are currently my nearest away game - about half the distance of our home games.

I've just come off the phone to my contact at Burnley. The reduced allocation is nothing to do with our behaviour at Burnley previously or at Blackburn earlier this season.
Given their plight Burnley are allocating part of the away section to home supporters for games against us and Leicester.
We will get circa 2200 tickets rather than the 4400 that have been given to every visiting club this season.
No need to worry though. Burnley are practically giving them away. Through work we've been offered 20 tickets for 250 quid for the Leicester game and the same offer, I'm told, will be available for the Stoke game.
Shit club, shit supporters. Fingers crossed we send them down.

Burnley have struggled to sell their own home allocation all season. I have workmates who are Burnley ST and they have offered to get me a ticket in their area. I hope to get an away ticket if no luck then I would give it a miss as I would have trouble keeping quiet. I suspect the home area will have many empty seats as their support lacks passion and most of the fans want to stay in the PL but would not be to down hearted if it's back to the Championship.

What about the manager, Dave? I've genuinely never heard anyone say they don't like him. Manager is far too good to be stuck with them. Liked dyche for a long time due to my connections with Chesterfield. Hopefully Burnley go down and he leaves for a club more befitting of his abilities.

All well and good to knock Burnley for their crowds. Only 90k live there and I'd guess a fair few of them, and how should I put this, are probably more into Cricket.

Burnley is a small town, just like Stoke is, but the catchment area of the surrounding areas are huge...burnley, barrowford, barnoldswick, Nelson, Accrington, Rawtenstall, even Skipton, Blackburn and Preston are areas in which Burnley pull support from in a catchment area that is far greater than Stoke on Trent.

Why the hate for burnley dave? Try living here! :-) Everyone supports Burnley, none of the fuckers go. Their crowds drop significantly if a manure game is televised on the same night as a Burnley game. The same is true of champions league nights. People who claim to be Burnley fans buy their kids manure, Chelsea or man city kits instead. That is just a few of the reasons.

Burnley are a great traditional club with a proud history.
The only thing I can come up with to dislike them is Labour spin doctor Alistair Campbell.

Looking forward to going to this one. Hope we relegate them after their antics in the game at the Brit earlier on this season.

I love going to Burnley - great old club with a traditional ground near the town centre. My wife was born there and her extended family all lived round there - lovely folk. A bit like Stoke in many ways. I really hope they don't go down, but I fear they probably will. As for AC, I certainly wouldn't defend many of his political actions - but try reading his novel ( title just escaping me) which is about mental health - you may form a modified view of the guy. I am currently reading his diaries which are a fascinating (if rather worrying) insight into the Blair era and how government works. But for the purposes of this footy Board - he is a genuine, real, passionate Burnley fan (even that comes out in the diaries) which counts for a lot with me.

Burnley is indeed a similar area to Stoke and its people share many similar traits. As football supporters, they're more akin to Vale than Stoke, which given they are historically a bigger club than Blackburn, I've always found strange. Many of them seem to hate Blackburn more than they love their own club. I love where we live but I can't stand Burnley football club or their supporters that I've come into contact with. I do know 3 decent ones though, but I also know a couple of decent Fail fans. I even know a decent Manure fan, even a Wolves fan. Locally, I give my support to Accrington.

The Burnley fans taking up seats in the away stand will be for Burnley ST wanting to move seats so guaranteeing lots of empty seats on the day. No none ST can sit their.

Davejohnno1, I have the same issues with Blackburn fans that you have with BFC and also find PNE a strange bunch.

Not got a lot of time for Burnley myself.
I have wondered from time to time why they've got a certain pull. He may well have good reasons but you've that Everything Burnley bloke from Silverdale. There's also an old school mate of mine, Tony Wilcox. He used to be Stoke home and away in the 80's, you may recall seeing travelling to away games on his Vespa? Anyway, shortly after he's all of a sudden Burnley mad.
Baffles me.
