You think it's just on here? He gets a load of shit where I sit and you can tell with the general crowd (imo anyway) that he's not that well liked. I'm confused as to why he wouldn't be well liked. Always seems to put a shift in. Notched a few goals. A bit of a mard but apart from that I can't see why anyone would dislike him. Shit touch. Misses loads of chances. I've even heard the odd shout about being idle.

Misses loads of chances. I've even heard the odd shout about being idle. I can't see how he'd be classed as idle. And on the first two counts those criticisms were also levelled at the current top converter of chances in the Premier league.

While I'm happy for Diouf to be there, the whole list went out the window when Diego Costa was placed 3rd. I know the Daily Arse... sorry, the Daily Mail has to tow the line, but really? Costa has been absolutely out of this world at times this season. He's a nasty fuck, but he's an absolutely world class striker. Sanchez is a great player, but he would be 3rd or 4th in my list. He's lifted Arsenal single handedly but there's been a few games where he hasn't even turned up. I seem to remember him barely touching the ball at the Britannia apart from his run past Shawcross. It's a daft list full-stop. They discounted one of the Southampton players on the grounds that he cost 11 million, yet included some household names who cost several times that amount. Either it needs to be a list of the best bargains (like Diouf), or a list of the best new players (like Costa). They mixed the two criteria with the - if we're honest - laughable result that Diouf is put on the same pedestal as some of the world's finest players. Nevertheless, a nice bit of recognition for a hard-working and likeable player. Very true.

Yes he has a poor touch at times, but he works his socks off, scores a fair few, gives us an outlet with his pace and is THE "team" player and often sacrifices himself for the good of the team. In my opinion we are a better team with him than without him.

That thread I stated that I hear the abuse he gets every match, cue the ones that were slagging him off stating it didn't happen and he should show his appreciation to us fans and stop being a miserable twat.

Unfortunately, he was a player who fell into the 'I don't rate him, BUT I HOPE HE PROVES ME WRONG!' camp very early on; an almost impossible label to shake off on here.
I think he's done pretty well since coming here but I think there's certainly more to come.
